<strong>Flight and cabin crew<\/strong> who exhibit moderate to severe symptoms of Covid-19 will have to undergo special medical examinations and obtain a <strong>certificate<\/strong> that they have clinically recovered before they can rejoin work, the country\u2019s civil aviation regulator has said in <strong>fresh guidelines.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The special medical exam will be held at one of the <strong>Indian Air Force<\/strong> boarding centres after complete clinical recovery, the <strong>Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) <\/strong>said in a circular posted on its website on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/untitled-design-64-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/untitled-design-64-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/untitled-design-64-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/untitled-design-64-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/untitled-design-64-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/untitled-design-64-750x563.jpg 750w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/untitled-design-64-1140x855.jpg 1140w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/untitled-design-64.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Such pilots can be considered for unrestricted flying provided their <strong>clinical examination and laboratory investigations <\/strong>reveal no finding that can cause a functional deficit<\/em>,\u201d the circular said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-center\"> \"Once declared \u2018<strong>fit for flying<\/strong>\u2019 at the IAF Boarding Centre, the aircrew can commence flying only after <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/DGCA.gov.in\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">DGCA<\/a> Medical Assessment is issued.\u201d<\/strong><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>If the isolation of a crew member was <strong>more than 14 days<\/strong>, he or she will be examined by DGCA-certified class 1 medical examiner, who will have to issue a cure certificate, the regulator said. <strong><em>\u201cThe aircrew can commence flying only after DGCA medical assessment is issued.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aircrew members who experience mild symptoms can remain in home quarantine for seven days after onset of symptoms and no fever for three days. \u201c<strong>There is no need for testing after the home isolation period is over\u201d<\/strong> in such cases, the circular said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"464\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/SAVE_20220112_173904.jpg\" alt=\"Flight and cabin crew who exhibit moderate to severe symptoms of Covid-19 will have to undergo special medical examinations says DGCA\" class=\"wp-image-16799\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/SAVE_20220112_173904.jpg 620w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/SAVE_20220112_173904-600x449.jpg 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/SAVE_20220112_173904-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Asymptomatic aircrew will undergo <strong><em>home isolation, and on completion of seven isolated days, the aircrew can be declared fit for unrestricted flying <\/em><\/strong>by his or her company doctor, provided their clinical parameters are normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;The cure certificate issued by the company doctor or concerned specialist will have to be sent to DGCA medical cell for inclusion in the crew\u2019s previous medical record,\u201d <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<cite>The circular stated<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Stay tuned and updated with Aviationa2z.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DGCA &#8211;
