A Ryanair<\/a> Boeing 737-800<\/strong> that completed an emergency landing in Brest yesterday reportedly had a fire onboard.<\/strong> The aircraft, EI-EFY, had been flying from Manchester to Faro <\/strong>at flight level. 410 when the incident unfolded onboard flight FR 4052. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thankfully, the flight landed safely, and passengers were eventually taken to Faro on a replacement aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the safety of passengers, crew, and the aircraft in their hands, pilots are trained<\/em> to deal with almost anything out of the ordinary that can pop up during a flight. \nOne threat that has to be taken seriously is the threat of fire, which could affect the plane\u2019s integrity if able to spread.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
What happened to Ryanair flight?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
According to data from RadarBox.com, flight FR4052 departed from Manchester at 18:33, <\/strong>two minutes ahead of schedule. After departure, the flight turned to the south, climbing to flight level 41,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just 40 minutes later, at 19:13, the aircraft started to squawk 7700, the code for an emergency.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft then started a rapid descent, which slowed slightly at around 10,000 feet. According to RadarBox\u2019s data, the aircraft\u2019s rate of descent reached -6,100 feet per minute at its highest. The plane landed in Brest, France, at around 19:30 (20:30 local time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 According to the Aviation Herald, the jet stopped on Runway 25L<\/strong> for approximately. 25 minutes before taxing to a parallel runway where passengers were de-planed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved (EI-EFY) is a 12.21-year-old Boeing 737-800<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The plane delivered to Ryanair in November 2009. And has a current estimated market value of $18.61 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both the AvHearld and The Independent are reporting that a fire was observed within the aircraft\u2019s cabin, though this is yet to be verified by the airline. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Passengers board a replacement flight<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Two hours after the incident aircraft landed at Brest, a replacement aircraft departed from London Stansted Airport.<\/strong><\/pre>\n\n\n\n

 This is Ryanair\u2019s largest base, meaning that crew and aircraft are typically available on stan<\/strong>dby if needed for such flights. EI-DLF flew down to the French coast, where it landed around an hour later. It then remained on the ground in.  Brest for around an hour before continuing on to Faro as flight FR 4052.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
 Passengers finally arrived in the Portuguese City at 01:33, roughly four hours after they were due to land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
