The airline said the diversion followed established safety procedures.

Finnair also faced a security alert involving a flight from Helsinki to Rome. Italian Air Force fighter aircraft escorted the service, which landed at its scheduled destination, where security personnel carried out the necessary checks.

Photo: LOT

Multiple Airlines Affected by B*mb Threats

LOT Polish Airlines experienced additional disruption when a Warsaw-Paris flight was stopped while taxiing and directed to a designated parking position for security inspections. Authorities reported that investigators found no hazardous items, allowing normal airport operations to continue.

Another LOT service, Flight LO235 from Warsaw to Brussels, also faced a security alert on Thursday but landed safely. The aircraft underwent precautionary checks following the incident.

Ryanair services were also affected by the latest developments. Several flights received security alerts, with aircraft landing in Bulgaria and undergoing inspections. The incidents added to the disruption caused by earlier threats involving the airline.

Authorities have not identified a common route, airline, or operational pattern connecting the latest incidents. At least seven flights were affected, with some aircraft diverted and others subjected to extensive security inspections.

A Wizz Air flight travelling from London Luton to Sofia diverted to Budapest on November 2 after receiving an in-flight b*mb threat. Hungarian fighter aircraft escorted the aircraft before it landed safely.

On November 3, additional threats affected flights operating across Italy, Poland, Spain, and Bulgaria. Italian fighter jets escorted a Ryanair aircraft arriving in Rome, while security teams searched several other aircraft after landing.

No explosives were discovered during the earlier inspections, and the UK government described the incidents as malicious hoax threats. Authorities have not established whether the latest warnings are connected to the previous cases.

The repeated alerts have emerged amid heightened geopolitical tensions and other security disruptions across Europe, including cyberattacks and reported drone incursions. Investigations into the source of the threats remain ongoing.

Stay tuned with us.
