ATLANTA-<\/strong> Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> will expand its 2027 transatlantic network with four new nonstop routes, connecting Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) with Reykjav\u00edk via Keflav\u00edk International Airport (KEF) and Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE), Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) with Athens International Airport (ATH), and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) with Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new services will launch between March and June 2027, alongside extended seasonal flying on several existing European routes. Delta will use Boeing 757-200 and Airbus A330 aircraft across the new services, offering multiple cabin options on each route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Strengthens Its European Network With New Routes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Delta\u2019s 2027 summer schedule will give travelers more nonstop options between the United States and Europe. The expansion includes a new Iceland connection from Boston, additional access to Italy and Greece, and Austin\u2019s first nonstop service to Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline is also extending service on selected routes to accommodate travel during the spring and autumn months. Its expanded schedule will combine new destinations, more frequent flights on selected routes, and longer operating seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCustomers continue to seek more flexibility, convenience and choice when traveling to Europe,\u201d said Jeff Arinder, Delta\u2019s Vice President of International Network Planning. He said the additional routes and extended schedules would offer customers more opportunities to travel at different times of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta\u2019s partnerships with Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic<\/a> and other airlines will also help passengers connect beyond its nonstop destinations to hundreds of locations across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boston-Reykjav\u00edk Starts in April 2027<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Delta will launch daily nonstop service between Boston and Reykjav\u00edk on April 12, 2027. Flights will operate through October 30, providing New England travelers with a direct connection to Iceland throughout the main spring, summer, and autumn travel periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route will use a Boeing 757-200<\/a> configured with Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main. The service will not offer Delta One, according to the announced cabin configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reykjav\u00edk will become Delta\u2019s 14th unique long-haul destination from Boston during the peak summer season and its 16th international destination from the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new service builds on Delta\u2019s history in Iceland, which began in June 2011 with nonstop flights between New York-John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)<\/a> and Keflav\u00edk International Airport. Delta said that launch marked the first time a U.S. carrier offered scheduled nonstop flights to Iceland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boston also plays an important role in Delta\u2019s transatlantic network. The airline identifies it as its closest U.S. hub to Europe, helping it connect passengers from across the United States with destinations on the other side of the Atlantic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boston-Venice Begins in May<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Delta will introduce four-times-weekly nonstop service between Boston and Venice on May 7, 2027. The seasonal route will operate through October 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights will use an Airbus A330-300 featuring four cabin products: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Venice will become Delta\u2019s 13th unique long-haul destination from Boston during the peak summer season and its 12th destination in continental Europe. Boston will also become Delta\u2019s third U.S. gateway offering nonstop flights to Venice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers connecting through Boston will have access to nearly 20 destinations across the United States. Delta will also increase its Boston-Milan service to daily flights in 2027, further expanding its Italian network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline expects to offer up to 17 peak-day departures from the United States to Italy, with more than 30,000 nonstop seats to Italy each week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharon Williams, Massport\u2019s Executive Director of Aviation, said Italy remained popular with New England travelers. She added that the new service would give passengers another way to experience the country\u2019s culture, history and tourism while strengthening connections between the two regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detroit-Athens Flights Launch in June 2027<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Delta will begin three-times-weekly nonstop service between Detroit and Athens on June 8, 2027. The seasonal route will operate through October 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will deploy an Airbus A330-200 featuring Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Athens will become Delta\u2019s 12th unique long-haul destination from Detroit during the peak summer season and its seventh destination in continental Europe. Detroit will also become the airline\u2019s fourth U.S. gateway to the Greek capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route will provide connections to more than 40 U.S. destinations through Detroit, creating another option for travelers heading to Greece from across Delta\u2019s domestic network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton welcomed the announcement, noting that travelers in Southeast Michigan would gain their first nonstop access to Athens from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newton said the route could support tourism, business and cultural connections while reflecting Delta\u2019s continued investment in Detroit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austin Gets Its First Nonstop Flights to Paris<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Delta\u2019s new Boston and Detroit services will join its previously announced daily seasonal route between Austin and Paris, which begins on March 27, 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport route will be Austin\u2019s first-ever nonstop service to Paris. Delta will operate the daily summer-season flights using an Airbus A330-900neo equipped with Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort and Delta Main.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service will also expand connecting opportunities through Delta\u2019s partnership with Air France-KLM. Passengers traveling from Austin will be able to connect onward to nearly 70 destinations across Europe, India and Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route adds another European gateway to Delta\u2019s network and gives passengers in central Texas a direct alternative to connecting through other U.S. airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Extends Its European Flight Season for 2027<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Alongside its new routes, Delta will bring forward the seasonal return of several existing European services and extend operations on selected routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) and Detroit to Rome (FCO) will begin in early March 2027, followed by Seattle (SEA)-Rome service in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta will also resume flights from New York-JFK to Catania (CTA), Porto (OPO), Prague (PRG) and Copenhagen (CPH) earlier in the year. Services connecting Boston and Seattle with Barcelona (BCN), along with Atlanta (ATL)-Edinburgh (EDI), will also return earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will increase frequencies on selected routes. Detroit-Rome and New York-JFK-Copenhagen will operate daily when they resume, while Cincinnati (CVG)-Paris service will continue three times weekly from January through March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These schedule changes will give passengers additional opportunities to travel outside the core summer period. They also allow Delta to offer more options on established routes while introducing new nonstop connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
