The Dubai-based carrier operates a fleet of almost 120 double-deck aircraft, connecting its hub with major destinations across Europe, Asia, Australia, and other regions.

According to Cirium schedule data cited in the original report, Emirates scheduled more than 13,000 A380 flights for the fourth quarter of 2026. The airline deploys the aircraft on major routes, including London Heathrow, Sydney, Melbourne, Manchester, Paris, Kuala Lumpur, Zurich, and Shanghai.

The latest schedule changes focus on three routes where Emirates plans to replace Boeing 777-300ER services with the larger A380. Kuala Lumpur: Second Daily A380 Service

Emirates plans to operate two daily Airbus A380 flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) from December 2026.

Previously, the airline planned to operate one daily A380 service throughout the winter 2026/27 season and the following summer schedule.

The additional A380 service will replace a Boeing 777-300ER flight, increasing seat capacity without adding another daily departure. Emirates currently operates three daily flights between the two cities, using an A380, an Airbus A350-900, and a Boeing 777-300ER.

The revised December schedule lists the following flights. All times are local.

Dubai to Kuala Lumpur

Departure

Arrival

Kuala Lumpur to Dubai

Departure

Arrival

EK342

10:40 AM

9:55 PM

EK343

1:25 AM

4:40 AM

EK346

3:10 AM

2:25 PM

EK347

7:10 PM

10:10 PM

The second daily A380 service will operate as EK346 from Dubai and EK347 from Kuala Lumpur. The published schedule lists the A380 assignment for these flights from December 1, 2026. Timings reflect the schedule currently listed for the relevant dates and remain subject to change.

Emirates’ Kuala Lumpur Route

Emirates began serving Kuala Lumpur in 1996 and introduced the A380 on the route in 2012. Malaysia was among the first 18 countries to receive scheduled Emirates A380 services.

The route previously supported multiple daily A380 flights. Emirates last operated two daily A380 services between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur in 2020. Between 2018 and 2020, the airline operated as many as three daily A380 flights on the route.

The Airbus A350-900 entered the Kuala Lumpur route in September 2026. Before its introduction, Emirates operated two daily Boeing 777 services alongside one daily A380 flight. The airline’s combination of the A350-900 and A380 allows it to use different aircraft capacities across its three daily services.

The planned second daily A380 flight will restore a higher level of double-deck capacity to this established market.

Photo: Emirates

2. Zurich: Two Daily A380 Flights

Emirates is also increasing its Airbus A380 capacity between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Zurich Airport (ZRH). The airline currently operates two daily flights on the route, offering more than 25,000 one-way seats each month.

Under the earlier schedule, Emirates planned to operate one daily A380 service during the upcoming winter season, with a Boeing 777-300ER on the second daily flight. The revised plan replaces the Boeing 777 with an A380 on the second service from December 2026.

The updated deployment is planned to continue through the following summer schedule. Emirates last operated two daily A380 flights to Zurich during summer 2024.

The following timetable lists the flight times reported for the route. All times are local, and arrivals marked with “+1” occur the following day.

Dubai to Zurich

Departure

Arrival

Zurich to Dubai

Departure

Arrival

EK87

8:25 AM

12:25 PM

EK88

2:35 PM

11:45 PM

EK85

3:55 PM

7:50 PM

EK86

9:50 PM

7:05 AM +1

EK85 and EK86 are the services scheduled to receive the additional A380 deployment. The layout includes 14 first-class suites, 76 business-class seats, 56 premium economy seats, and 341 economy seats. Aircraft configurations may vary across the airline’s fleet.

The first-class suites feature sliding privacy doors, a small wardrobe, two storage compartments, and a shelf with a flip-up makeup mirror. The suites use a 1-2-1 seating arrangement, giving each passenger direct access to the aisle.

Business class also uses a 1-2-1 layout and features seats based on Safran’s SkyLounge platform. The premium economy cabin has 56 of Emirates’ latest premium economy seats arranged in a 2-4-2 layout, while economy class uses a 3-4-3 configuration.

The A380 also features Emirates’ onboard bar and lounge area on the upper deck, positioned at the rear of the business-class cabin. First-class and business-class passengers have access to this facility.

The second daily A380 service gives passengers travelling between Dubai and Zurich more opportunities to book Emirates’ double-deck aircraft. It also increases the capacity offered in the airline’s premium and economy cabins while maintaining the existing two-flight daily schedule.

Photo: Clément Alloing

3. Shanghai: Two Daily A380 Flights for Five Weeks

Emirates is temporarily increasing its Airbus A380 capacity between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG). The revised schedule calls for both daily flights to operate with the A380 from October 25 through November 30, 2026.

Shanghai Pudong is one of China’s major international gateways. Before the latest update, Emirates planned to operate one daily A380 flight and one Boeing 777-300ER service on the route. The new schedule temporarily replaces the Boeing 777 with an A380, increasing the number of daily double-deck services without adding another flight.

The following schedule lists the flights and local departure and arrival times during the planned A380 deployment.

Flight

Route

Departure

Arrival

EK302

Dubai to Shanghai

3:10 AM

3:05 PM

EK304

Dubai to Shanghai

9:15 AM

9:05 PM

EK303

Shanghai to Dubai

11:00 PM

5:10 AM +1

EK305

Shanghai to Dubai

6:15 AM

12:05 PM

During the 5 week period, EK302 and EK303 will operate with the A380, as will EK304 and EK305. The additional deployment applies from October 25 through November 30, 2026, according to the published schedule update.

Return to Double-Daily A380 Operations

Emirates returned the A380 to the Shanghai route in October 2025 following an absence of approximately 18 months. Before the latest schedule change, the airline operated one daily A380 service alongside a Boeing 777-300ER flight.

The last time Emirates operated two daily A380 flights between Dubai and Shanghai was in 2020. The temporary change therefore restores the route’s double-daily A380 deployment for a limited period rather than establishing a permanent increase in aircraft frequency.

The revised schedule gives Emirates additional capacity on both daily flights during the specified dates. After November 30, passengers should check the latest timetable because the second service is scheduled to revert from its temporary A380 assignment.

Photo: Christian Junker | Photography | Flickr

What Three A380 Changes Mean for Emirates

Emirates’ schedule changes demonstrate three ways the airline is deploying its A380 fleet to increase capacity on established long-haul routes.

Kuala Lumpur and Zurich are scheduled to receive a second daily A380 service from December 2026, replacing Boeing 777-300ER flights with the larger double-deck aircraft. Shanghai will receive two daily A380 services temporarily from October 25 through November 30, 2026.

The changes increase the number of seats available on existing flights rather than adding daily departures. They also show how Emirates can adjust aircraft assignments to meet route requirements while retaining its established flight schedules.

These plans remain subject to operational and schedule changes. Passengers should confirm their flight times and aircraft assignments through Emirates’ official booking and flight-schedule services before travelling.

Stay tuned with us.
