ONTARIO\u2014<\/strong> A Gulfstream<\/a> G100 medical transfer aircraft operated by Latitude Air Ambulance has gone missing while flying from Bermuda to Boston with six people on board. The U.S. Coast Guard launched an air and sea search off Nantucket after the Federal Aviation Administration lost contact with the aircraft early Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latitude Air Ambulance (HTT)<\/strong> operates medical evacuation and repatriation flights, while the aircraft was traveling from L.F. Wade International Airport, Bermuda (BDA) to Boston Logan International Airport, Boston (BOS). The Coast Guard said the search is focused off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coast Guard Searches for Missing Medical Jet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The U.S. Coast Guard began searching Saturday for the Gulfstream G100 after the Federal Aviation Administration reported that it had lost contact with the aircraft. The aircraft was carrying six people during its flight from Bermuda to Boston<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The search operation is taking place in waters off Nantucket. Coast Guard air and surface crews have been deployed to locate the aircraft and determine what happened after communications were lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Coast Guard identified the aircraft as a Gulfstream G100 with Canadian registration C-GRJP. Flight-tracking data identifies Latitude Air Ambulance as the operator, NY Times<\/a> flagged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six People Were Aboard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The missing aircraft had six people on board. Associated Press reported that the group included four crew members and two passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft was operating as a medical transfer flight. Latitude Air Ambulance provides medical evacuation and repatriation services, transporting patients to hospitals and returning people to their home countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latitude Air Ambulance operates a fleet that includes Gulfstream G100 aircraft. Its G100s are configured for medical transport and can carry medical personnel and specialized equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Search Operation Underway Near Nantucket<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Coast Guard has deployed multiple assets to search for the aircraft. The operation includes aircraft and surface vessels working in the waters south of Nantucket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coast Guard Station Brant Point has participated in the search with a 47-foot motor lifeboat. Other reported assets include an MH-60 helicopter, an HC-144 Ocean Sentry, a C-130 aircraft and a Coast Guard cutter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The search area was reported to be about 13 nautical miles south of Nantucket in the early stages of the operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aircraft Was Equipped for Medical Missions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Latitude Air Ambulance’s Gulfstream G100 aircraft are used for specialized medical transport. The company says its aircraft can be staffed by medical professionals, including a nurse and respiratory therapist, with a physician included on some flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft are equipped with intensive-care medical equipment and supplies. Latitude says its medical teams focus on patient care within the limited space available inside the aircraft and also assist accompanying passengers during the flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company confirmed that the aircraft was missing and said it had contacted search-and-rescue and law-enforcement agencies. A company spokesman did not provide additional details about the flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigation and Search Continue<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The U.S. Coast Guard continues to coordinate the search after the loss of contact. The National Transportation Safety Board is also monitoring the situation and gathering information, although no cause for the loss of contact had been established in the latest reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities had not publicly determined the aircraft’s condition or provided a confirmed explanation for why contact was lost. The search remains focused on locating the aircraft and the six people aboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
