DUBAI-<\/strong> SpiceJet (SG)<\/a> former pilot Smit Machchhar was reportedly the captain of a flydubai (FZ) Boeing 737 MAX 8 involved in an in-flight cockpit confrontation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight, operating from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Ben Gurion Airport (TLV), diverted to Tabuk Regional Airport (TUU) after the aircraft transmitted emergency signals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight FZ1073 was operating from Dubai to Tel Aviv with approximately 174 passengers when an incident involving the two pilots reportedly occurred more than two hours after departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight-tracking information showed the aircraft descending from approximately 34,000 feet to around 16,000 feet during the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Machchhar reportedly joined Flydubai in 2022 after spending about a decade flying for SpiceJet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His reported background became a key detail in the incident because he was serving as captain of the aircraft when the cockpit confrontation occurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
