LUTON-<\/strong> easyJet (U2)<\/a> flight EZY888 from Glasgow Airport (GLA) to London Gatwick Airport (LGW) returned to its stand shortly before departure on Saturday, September 19, 2026, after a passenger behaved disruptively onboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police Scotland attended the aircraft and escorted the passenger from the tarmac before the flight continued to London Gatwick (LGW)<\/a>. easyJet said its cabin crew followed their training and acted to protect the safety of passengers and crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

easyJet Confirms Why Glasgow Flight Returned<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Flight EZY888 was moving towards the runway when it suddenly turned around and returned to its gate. Police were waiting when the aircraft came back to the stand and removed the disruptive passenger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

easyJet later confirmed that the passenger was removed because of disruptive behaviour. The airline said its staff dealt with the situation according to their training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An easyJet spokesperson said the Glasgow to London Gatwick flight returned to the stand before departure after a passenger behaved disruptively onboard. Once the passengers left the aircraft, the flight continued to London Gatwick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline said its cabin crew are trained to assess all situations and act quickly and appropriately so that the safety of the flight and other customers is not compromised at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

easyJet also said it takes such incidents seriously and does not tolerate disruptive behaviour onboard. The airline added that the safety and wellbeing of its customers and crew is always its highest priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police Scotland said officers received a report at around 2.50 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2026, about a disruptive passenger on a flight that had departed from Glasgow Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officers attended the aircraft, but Police Scotland said no complaints were made. No arrests were made as a result of the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The police response allowed the airline to deal with the passenger before the service continued to London Gatwick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to The Herald<\/a>, the incident delayed the Glasgow to London service by 49 minutes compared with its original scheduled departure time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight EZY888 eventually left Glasgow Airport at 3.29 PM. It touched down in London at 4.57 PM, completing the journey after the disruption had been dealt with at Glasgow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The return to the stand took place before the aircraft continued its scheduled route to Gatwick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passenger Reaction After Removal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A passenger told the Glasgow Times that the removal of the disruptive passenger was met with applause from other people onboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reaction followed the police intervention on the tarmac. Despite the considerable police presence, the incident did not result in any arrests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airline Emphasises Safety Procedures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

easyJet’s statement focused on the role of cabin crew in managing disruptive behaviour during flight operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline said its crew members are trained to assess situations and take appropriate action when necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision to return EZY888 to the stand allowed the passenger to be removed before the service proceeded to London Gatwick. The remaining passengers were then able to continue their journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
