The deliveries are scheduled between 2029 and 2032.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The order will increase Aeroflot\u2019s planned MC-21 fleet to 108 aircraft, including 18 aircraft scheduled for delivery in 2027 and 2028. The ceremony was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov and Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contract covers more than the aircraft themselves. With the additional 90 aircraft, Aeroflot is expected to receive 108 MC-21 aircraft in total under the current programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement also provides 22 years of full-service support for all 108 aircraft. Its development forms a central part of Russia\u2019s effort to establish a domestically produced commercial aircraft capable of serving the country\u2019s airline fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MC-21 programme has undergone significant changes since 2022. Russian manufacturers replaced around 80 systems and components with domestically produced alternatives as part of the aircraft\u2019s import-substitution programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the major changes is the use of the <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Russia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Russian-made<\/a> PD-14 engine. These systems include hydraulics, avionics, the electrical power system and the auxiliary power unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The certification programme has progressed through more than 120 certification flights conducted on three aircraft. More than 50% of the certification test programme has been completed, according to the information provided by Rostec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft is scheduled to undergo certification in 2027.
