The allegation says the pilots were caught using personal devices on repositioning flights and could face further investigations involving their phones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The post does not identify the airline, airport, or original source, making the claim difficult to independently verify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PSA Airlines (OH), which operates CRJ700 and CRJ900 aircraft and has a large eastern U.S. presence, has emerged in online speculation, including references to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT)<\/a>, but there is no evidence establishing that PSA was involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under 14 CFR 121.542, flight crewmembers cannot use personal wireless communications devices or laptops at their duty stations during flight time unless the activity directly relates to aircraft operation or involves approved emergency<\/a>, safety, or employment-related communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The restriction extends beyond the sterile-cockpit period because the regulation covers all flight time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approved electronic flight bag functions, such as accessing charts and operational information, are different from personal browsing, messaging, or other unrelated device use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
