SINGAPORE\u2014<\/strong> Singapore Airlines (SQ)<\/a> will increase flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang from October 25, 2026, as it expands its Vietnam schedule for the northern winter 2026\/27 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will add a fourth daily service between Singapore Changi Airport (SIN)<\/a> and Ho Chi Minh City\u2019s Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN), while the Da Nang (DAD) route will rise to three daily flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The changes will take SIA\u2019s Vietnam operation to 70 weekly flights, including 28 to Ho Chi Minh City, 21 to Da Nang and 21 to Hanoi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the increase will affect the two routes differently, with Da Nang receiving a straightforward capacity boost while Ho Chi Minh City will gain frequency but lose some overall seat capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines’ Ho Chi Minh Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new Ho Chi Minh City service will operate as SQ188 from Singapore at 9:50 p.m., arriving in the Vietnamese city at 11 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its return flight, SQ187, will leave Ho Chi Minh City at 5:55 a.m. and reach Singapore at 9:05 a.m., giving passengers a new early-morning option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both flights will use the Boeing 737-8 MAX<\/a>, which has 154 seats. At the same time, SIA will replace the Boeing 787-10 currently assigned to SQ178\/177 with another 737-8 MAX, reducing the number of seats available despite the additional daily frequency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route will therefore increase from 21 to 28 weekly flights, or 33%, but weekly seat capacity will fall from 6,489 to 6,286. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business Class capacity will decline more sharply, dropping from 798 to 686 seats, a 14% reduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da Nang’s Increased Capacity on the 737-8<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

SIA will add SQ176\/SQ175 to its Da Nang schedule, taking the route from two to three daily flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Singapore departure will leave at 5 p.m. and arrive in Da Nang at 6:45 p.m., while the return service will depart at 7:35 p.m. and reach Singapore at 11:35 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike Ho Chi Minh City, the Da Nang expansion will directly increase capacity because all three daily services will use the Boeing 737-8 MAX. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weekly flights will rise from 14 to 21, while total seats will increase from 2,156 to 3,234, representing a 50% gain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines’ Vietnam Network Expands<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The changes follow SIA\u2019s decision to increase Singapore-Hanoi flights from two to three daily in June 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third Hanoi service will remain in place during the 2026\/27 winter season, giving the airline 21 weekly flights on the route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SIA\u2019s expanded schedule will put its Vietnam operation well above its pre-pandemic frequency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December 2019, SIA operated 19 weekly flights to Ho Chi Minh City and 14 to Hanoi, while SilkAir operated 11 weekly flights to Da Nang, Mainly Miles<\/a> flagged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The additional services are currently scheduled through March 27, 2027, with the regular summer schedule beginning the following day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines has also stated that flight schedules remain subject to change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
