DUBAI\u2014<\/strong> Emirates (EK)<\/a> is entering the 2026-27 winter season with strong booking momentum after carrying more than 8.6 million passengers during July and August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline said demand is building across several international markets as it expands its fleet, upgrades aircraft and adds new destinations, while operating at about 93% of its pre-disruption capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dubai International Airport (DXB)<\/a> is also seeing strong inbound demand on Emirates, with more than 500,000 passengers arriving in the city on the airline during the second half of August alone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That figure was 7% higher than the same period in 2025, highlighting continued demand for Dubai as the winter travel season approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates Winter Demand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emirates said bookings for winter, which begins in late October, are tracking positively despite customers increasingly making travel decisions closer to departure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demand is currently ahead of last year in markets including India, South Africa, Brazil, Portugal, Egypt, Ghana, Colombia, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline is also seeing strong demand from the UAE, while premium travel continues to gain momentum across its network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the summer, services involving West Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Africa recorded seat load factors above 75%, with particularly strong results on routes involving Indonesia, C\u00f4te d’Ivoire and the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates has also expanded its booking flexibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customers can receive one free date change across the network, while journeys involving Dubai qualify for unlimited free date changes under the airline’s current flexibility proposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fleet And Product<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emirates has received 18 aircraft since January, comprising 11 Airbus A350s and seven Boeing 777 freighters. Six additional A350s are scheduled to arrive before the end of December, supporting the airline’s broader fleet renewal and network expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier has completed retrofits on 104 aircraft, including 53 Boeing 777s and 51 Airbus A380s. Premium Economy and the latest cabin products are now available across 137 aircraft, with that number expected to reach 155 by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates is also introducing new cabin features, including its U-Dream headrest for Economy Class and a Premium Economy seat with a full-height privacy divider. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline recently showcased the new Premium Economy seat, which also includes wireless charging, USB-C power and a 13.3-inch 4K HDR entertainment screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Network Expansion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emirates will add Helsinki to its network on October 1, with the new service operated by an A350. The airline previously confirmed that the aircraft would provide three-cabin service on the Dubai-Helsinki route, including Premium Economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier is also adding capacity in several markets, with second daily services planned for Accra, Tokyo Narita, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One daily Delhi service will also be upgraded to an A380 as Emirates responds to strong demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A350 will additionally serve Larnaca, Malta, Nairobi and Hamburg from late October, followed by Mauritius in November. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Retrofitted Boeing 777s will enter service to Stockholm and Frankfurt, extending the airline’s newest cabins to more destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates is also relying on its partnership with flydubai to extend connectivity beyond its own network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two Dubai-based carriers now provide access to more than 214 unique destinations across over 100 countries, while the partnership has carried more than 28 million passengers since its launch in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
