NEWARK\u2014<\/strong> United Airlines (UA)<\/a> will resume nonstop flights between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Tel Aviv\u2019s Ben Gurion Airport (TLV)<\/a> on September 8, marking the carrier\u2019s return to Israel after a suspension linked to the conflict involving Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will initially operate two daily flights between Newark and Tel Aviv before restoring services from additional U.S. hubs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, United\u2019s Dubai operation remains suspended, with the Newark-Dubai route now expected to remain grounded until at least March 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Restarts Tel Aviv Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

United\u2019s return to Tel Aviv will begin with twice-daily Boeing 787 Dreamliner service from Newark. The carrier suspended its Israel operations after the escalation of the Iran conflict in late February forced airlines to reassess flights into the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The restart will give travelers another major U.S. carrier option on the transatlantic market, following Delta Air Lines\u2019 (DL)<\/a> resumption of daily service between New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)<\/a> and Tel Aviv on September 6. Delta is operating the route with Airbus A330-900neo aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United\u2019s wider Tel Aviv network will return in stages. Chicago O\u2019Hare International Airport (ORD) service is scheduled to resume on October 24, while Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) flights are set to return on October 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will then restore its San Francisco International Airport (SFO)<\/a> route on March 28, 2027, with three weekly flights using Boeing 787-9 aircraft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

United has said the San Francisco service will provide a significant amount of premium capacity between the two cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More U.S. Flights for Israel <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The expanded schedule will gradually rebuild United\u2019s presence in the U.S.-Israel market after months of limited nonstop competition. The timing also gives the airline an opportunity to increase capacity ahead of periods of strong seasonal travel demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United\u2019s Newark operation is particularly important because the airport serves as one of the carrier\u2019s largest international hubs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline has continued expanding its long-haul network while adding new destinations and restoring routes affected by earlier disruptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The return of U.S. carriers is also changing the competitive landscape for Israeli travelers. El Al and Arkia carried much of the nonstop traffic between Israel and the United States while major American airlines remained absent from the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines has indicated that its own return to Israel will not occur before March 27, 2027, leaving United and Delta among the first major U.S. carriers to restore regular nonstop connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United’s Dubai Flights Delayed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Despite the renewed Tel Aviv schedule, United is taking a different approach to Dubai. Its daily Newark-Dubai service remains suspended, with the route reportedly not expected to return before March 27, 2027, PYOK<\/a> flagged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The extended suspension comes as airlines continue to assess operational and security risks across the Middle East. Dubai International Airport (DXB)<\/a> has continued handling international traffic, but United\u2019s own schedule indicates that its Newark service will remain paused until late March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contrasting timelines highlight how airlines are rebuilding their Middle East networks selectively rather than restoring every suspended route at the same time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For United, Tel Aviv will return in stages from September, while Dubai passengers may have to wait several more months for the airline\u2019s nonstop service to resume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
