CHICAGO-<\/strong> United Airlines (UA)<\/a> is expanding its new Elevated Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner cabin to more London services, with the aircraft now operating on all 3 daily flights between London Heathrow (LHR) and San Francisco (SFO). The upgraded cabin will also debut on United\u2019s London Heathrow to Houston (IAH) route from 6 January 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United Elevated interior introduces 8 United Polaris Studio suites, 56 United Polaris suites, 35 United Premium Plus seats, 33 United Economy Plus seats and 90 United Economy seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The redesigned aircraft combines more private premium seating with larger entertainment screens, Bluetooth connectivity, improved dining and Starlink connectivity for MileagePlus members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Expands 787-9 Cabin Across London<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

United Airlines is extending its latest long-haul cabin design to more flights from London Heathrow as it expands the deployment of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners<\/a> fitted with the United Elevated interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first Boeing 787-9 with the Elevated interior entered international service in 2026, initially operating between San Francisco (SFO) and Singapore before being introduced on London services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expansion to more London flights places the airline\u2019s newest premium cabin product on additional transatlantic capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Business Travel Magazine<\/a> has also highlighted United\u2019s broader premium push, which includes the new Elevated long-haul experience and upgrades across the airline\u2019s cabins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Boeing 787-9 Elevated configuration is designed around five seating categories, giving passengers a wider range of products across the aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cabin includes 8 United Polaris Studio suites<\/a>, 56 United Polaris suites, 35 United Premium Plus seats, 33 United Economy Plus seats and 90 United Economy seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polaris Studio Brings More Space and Privacy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 8 United Polaris Studio suites are positioned in the first row of each Business Class section. They are 25% larger than standard United Polaris seats and add several features designed to provide a more private premium experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each suite includes a privacy door, an additional ottoman seat for companions, wireless charging, Bluetooth connectivity and a 27-inch 4K OLED seatback screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 8 lie-flat Studio suites are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration across two sections, giving every passenger direct aisle access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United is also adding dedicated service elements for Polaris Studio passengers. These include exclusive entr\u00e9e choices, an Ossetra caviar amuse-bouche service and new amenity kits featuring luxury skincare products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Polaris Suites Privacy Upgrades<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 56 United Polaris suites also feature enhanced privacy and entertainment. Each suite is equipped with a sliding privacy door and a larger 19-inch 4K OLED screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Business Class cabin provides all-aisle access, while passengers can choose between seats facing the window or centre of the aircraft and suites facing the aisle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The combination of direct aisle access, privacy doors and larger screens gives the Polaris cabin a more individualised seating environment throughout the Business Class section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Premium Plus Has 35 Seats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

United Premium Plus will provide 35 seats on the Elevated Boeing 787-9. This is the highest number of Premium Plus seats in the airline\u2019s fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seats will include privacy dividers and wireless charging. Behind Premium Plus, the aircraft will feature 33 United Economy Plus seats and 90 United Economy seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The configuration gives Premium Plus passengers a distinct cabin between United Polaris and the main Economy cabin while maintaining upgraded seating features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larger Screens and Bluetooth Across the Cabin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Elevated aircraft will feature an upgraded onboard entertainment system with larger screens. Bluetooth connectivity will also be available throughout the cabin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft will be among the first United widebody aircraft to offer free Starlink connectivity to MileagePlus members. The connectivity upgrade extends the Elevated product beyond physical seating and into the onboard digital experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expanded Food and Beverage Service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

United has invested more than $150 million in food and beverage improvements in 2025, and the Elevated aircraft will include several of those enhancements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polaris customers will have access to an onboard grab-and-go snack bar featuring products from Garrett\u2019s, Community and Joe & Seph\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polaris Studio passengers will receive an Ossetra caviar amuse-bouche paired with Champagne Laurent-Perrier Cuv\u00e9e Ros\u00e9. Mid-flight meal choices will also include a regionally influenced tapas service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Economy passengers will receive three entr\u00e9e choices, along with new desserts and an appetiser course. These changes extend the food and beverage investment across both premium and Economy cabins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London-San Francisco Service Gets Elevated Cabin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

United is now operating the Elevated Boeing 787-9 interior on all three daily flights between London Heathrow (LHR) and San Francisco (SFO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route is one of the first major London services to receive the redesigned aircraft, giving passengers access to the Polaris Studio product as United expands the cabin beyond its initial 2026 deployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United will introduce the Elevated Boeing 787-9 cabin on its London Heathrow (LHR) to Houston (IAH) route from 6 January 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The addition gives passengers travelling between the two hubs access to the new Polaris Studio suites, updated Polaris cabins, Premium Plus and upgraded Economy seating on the designated aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route expansion also supports United\u2019s wider plan to deploy the Elevated interior on more long-haul services rather than limiting it to its initial international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrew Nocella, United\u2019s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer<\/strong>, said the airline\u2019s latest cabin innovations are intended to strengthen its international offering and give customers more reasons to choose United.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said: \u201cWe already deliver a superior international experience and fly to the most places across the Atlantic and Pacific \u2013 these new innovations provide a more premium experience overall, give customers even more reasons to choose United, and set our airline up to grow into the next decade and beyond. And we\u2019re confident this elevated experience will take international flying to new heights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement reflects United\u2019s focus on expanding its premium international product while improving the experience across multiple cabin classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
