KUALA LUMPUR-<\/strong> AirAsia X (D7)<\/a> will suspend its Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) route as part of a broader strategy to redeploy aircraft to stronger-performing Australian markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline said increased operating costs, softer passenger demand, and fleet optimization have led to the decision. AirAsia X (D7) will instead expand services from Melbourne Airport (MEL) and Perth Airport (PER), where demand remains stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AirAsia X Reshapes Australian Network Strategy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

AirAsia X confirmed that the suspension of its Sydney<\/a> to Kuala Lumpur service forms part of a wider restructuring of its long-haul network. According to the airline, the decision reflects changing market conditions and the need to allocate aircraft where they can generate stronger commercial returns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier said it is accelerating the retirement of older, less fuel-efficient Airbus A330 aircraft<\/a> as part of its long-term fleet strategy.
