LEEDS\u2014<\/strong> easyJet (U2)<\/a> will end all flights from Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) on January 5, 2027, bringing its more than 16-year presence at the Yorkshire airport to a close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision follows a review of the airline\u2019s routes and network, with easyJet confirming that it will no longer operate services from the airport after the stated date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The withdrawal will affect easyJet\u2019s current connectivity from Leeds Bradford to destinations including Barcelona<\/a>, Belfast, Geneva, Majorca, Malaga and Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline has already contacted passengers holding bookings beyond January 5 and is offering affected customers the choice of transferring to another flight free of charge or receiving a refund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

easyJet Ends Leeds Flights Permanently From 2027<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

easyJet first announced its arrival at Leeds Bradford in October 2010, with its inaugural service to Geneva scheduled for December 17 that year. The initial winter route was planned to operate five times a week, highlighting the airline\u2019s early focus on leisure and ski traffic from Yorkshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the following years, easyJet expanded its presence at the airport with routes serving major European leisure and city-break markets. Its current network includes popular destinations such as Barcelona, Majorca, Malaga and Paris<\/a>, alongside Belfast and Geneva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

easyJet said the decision was made after reviewing its Leeds Bradford routes. The carrier added that it continues to review its network and aims to provide connectivity where it identifies sufficient customer demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passenger Options After easyJet Withdrawal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Passengers booked on services scheduled after the January 5 withdrawal date will not simply lose their travel arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EasyJet has contacted affected customers and provided alternatives that include transferring to another available flight without a change fee or requesting a refund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move will change the competitive landscape at Leeds Bradford, but the airport will continue to have significant low-cost and leisure airline capacity. Ryanair (FR)<\/a> currently maintains a substantial operation, while Jet2 (LS) is also expanding its schedule from the Yorkshire airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leeds Network Continues With Other Airlines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ryanair\u2019s Summer 2026 schedule includes 25 routes from Leeds Bradford, supported by three based aircraft and a reported $300 million local investment. The airline has added Agadir and Warsaw to its schedule while increasing frequencies on several existing routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jet2<\/a> is also strengthening its position ahead of summer 2027. Its programme includes almost two million seats and 53 routes, with new destinations such as Santorini, Preveza and Tivat scheduled to join the network, The Sun<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EasyJet\u2019s departure therefore marks a significant change for Leeds Bradford rather than an end to the airport\u2019s European connectivity. From January 2027, passengers will increasingly rely on the remaining carriers to maintain access to popular holiday destinations and regional markets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
