The Boeing 737-800 landed safely at about 2 PM, and the aircraft was later removed from service for inspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later the same day, <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/united-airlines\/\">United Airlines (UA)<\/a> Flight 739 arrived at Chicago O\u2019Hare (ORD) from Omaha, Nebraska, where its Airbus A320 experienced a tire problem. The <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=737\">Boeing 737-800<\/a> landed safely despite 2 tires bursting during the landing at about 2 PM Monday. The aircraft was carrying 180 passengers, according to reporting on the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>American Airlines said first responders met the aircraft as a precaution. Passengers were transported safely to the terminal by bus, while the aircraft was taken out of service so the airline\u2019s maintenance team could inspect it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline thanked its employees for their professionalism and apologized to passengers for the experience. Reports also indicated that the United incident occurred about 3 hours after the American Airlines tire blowouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FAA is investigating both incidents. The aircraft came to a safe stop, and passengers were removed from the plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On August 3, Southwest Airlines Flight 1243 also experienced a tire problem at Chicago Midway International Airport. The flight had departed from Fort Myers, Florida, and lost air pressure in both nose-gear tires while landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft landed safely, Southwest mechanics replaced the tires, and the plane was towed to the gate. The aircraft involved also came from different airlines and included 2 different aircraft types: an American Airlines Boeing 737-800 and a United Airlines Airbus A320.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The investigation will determine the circumstances surrounding each tire failure.
