The airline had originally planned to operate six weekly A380 services on the route, with one weekly Airbus A350-900 flight.

Under the revised schedule, the Airbus A350-900 will operate all seven weekly flights between Munich and Los Angeles during this period.

A similar adjustment will take place on the Munich to San Francisco route. From January 16 through February 27, 2027, the Airbus A350-900 will replace the six planned weekly Airbus A380 flights, resulting in daily A350 operations throughout the seasonal period.

These schedule changes are part of Lufthansa’s regular winter planning. January and February traditionally represent the weakest demand period for transatlantic travel, prompting airlines to adjust aircraft deployment to better match passenger demand.

A Lufthansa spokesperson previously noted that schedule adjustments during this period are standard practice because passenger demand is consistently lower during the first two months of the year.

<img decoding="async" width="1024" height="688" demand declines on some North American routes during winter, several Asian markets continue to perform strongly for Lufthansa.

The airline will use the Airbus A380 capacity released from its California services to strengthen operations from Munich to <a href="https://aviationa2z.com/?s=Bangkok" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer daily flights.

The expanded schedule includes:

LH774 departing Munich at 4:25 of Lufthansa’s strongest winter leisure and business markets.

India will also receive additional Airbus A380 service during the same period.

From January 11 through February 27, 2027, Lufthansa plans to operate the Airbus A380 on five weekly flights between Munich and Mumbai, replacing the Airbus A350-900 on those services.

The airline has already scheduled daily Airbus A380 operations to Delhi, highlighting the importance of the Indian market during the winter travel season.

The revised deployment demonstrates Lufthansa’s strategy of moving high-capacity aircraft to destinations where seasonal demand remains strong rather than operating oversized aircraft on weaker transatlantic routes.

<img decoding="async" width="1024" height="576"
