Heart Aerospace plans to use lessons from the X1 flight program to refine the production aircraft as development moves toward certification.

The company is already developing the first pre-production ES-30 at its pilot manufacturing plant in Los Angeles. Flight testing of that aircraft is scheduled to begin in 2028, while entry into service is targeted for 2031.

The X1 flight therefore represents more than a technology demonstration. It gives Heart Aerospace operational experience with a large battery-electric aircraft and establishes a foundation for the next stages of ES-30 development.

Heart’s approach also reflects a broader effort to make regional aviation more efficient by introducing electric and hybrid-electric propulsion.

The company says advances in battery technology, aircraft software and crew efficiency could further improve the economics of the ES-30 over time.

Stay tuned with us.
