SEATTLE-<\/strong> Alaska Airlines (AS)<\/a> has barred Florida evangelist Whitney Lynn from its flights after she preached to a full cabin during a ground delay at Orlando International Airport (MCO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lynn was removed from Alaska Airlines Flight 708 to San Diego International Airport (SAN) before departure and later received notice suspending her travel on Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines (HA), and Horizon Air (QX) pending an investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sermon Delivered To Stunned Cabin Before Pushback<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The incident took place before takeoff on Alaska Airlines Flight 708, bound for San Diego from Orlando International Airport in Florida on Thursday, July 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft was held at the gate when Lynn stood in the aisle and addressed a packed plane load of stunned Alaska Airlines customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Hello, everybody. Good morning. I know we’re all waiting. It’s kinda frustrating. Right? This wait. But I wanna tell you that god’s timing is perfect, and god knows everything. And maybe he’s sparing us from danger today,” Whitney announced to the entire plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She then moved into a full religious appeal. “So I want you to rest and know that Jesus Christ loves you so much that he died on the cross for your sins. He rose again in 3 days. He’s alive, and he’s the one true god. But the wages of arson is death, hell forever. Apart from Jesus, we won’t make it to heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He loves you so much. Make him lord. Repent of your sins. He is coming back very soon. I pray protection over this flight in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen. Bless you, guys. Bless you. Amen.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lynn, 40, of Orlando<\/a>, addressed the cabin for less than a minute. While she was speaking, a chime from the button used to summon the crew sounded in the background, audible in video of the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crew Concerns And Removal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

None of the flight attendants<\/a> immediately intervened, allowing Whitney to have her moment. Behind the scenes, however, the crew had already decided she would not be traveling on their plane. A ground manager was contacted along with law enforcement to have her removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A crew member approached Lynn and told her to collect her belongings and leave the aircraft, saying the crew did not feel safe with her. Whitney documented the moment she was asked to get off, with the ground manager repeating that the flight attendants “didn’t feel safe” with her on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaska Airlines has since issued a statement on the removal. A spokesperson said the flight crew became increasingly concerned about a guest’s behaviour on board the aircraft, which was also affecting other guests, and that the passenger was asked to deplane “for safety reasons.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier added that the guest will not be permitted to travel on its flights “for the foreseeable future.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confrontation Across Several TikTok Videos<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Whitney rejected the safety explanation on the spot. “I’ll tell you what this is\u2026 it’s called spiritual warfare,” she said. “Demons don’t like the name of Jesus\u2026 It’s not safe to talk about the gosep,” she added. “Is it a crime? Is it against the law?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Last day’s people. Can’t talk about Jesus anymore,” Whitney continued as she collected up her belongings. “We’re being persecuted\u2026 being persecuted for being Christian.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She documented her removal in several TikTok videos, going off at the ground manager after he tried to shut a door on her in the departures concourse. One clip of the removal had reached 3 million views on Instagram by Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to airport police afterwards, Lynn suggested the airline employee had acted because he was gay, then returned to the subject of demons. She was not arrested. One officer told her she had done nothing wrong, but that airlines remove passengers regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She asked the officers whether they personally knew Jesus, described the airport as the Devil’s playground, and prayed over them before walking back into the terminal and beginning another sermon at Gate 36.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Email From Alaska Airlines Corporate Security<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

She was told she could rebook onto an alternative flight, and she did exactly that. Before she could travel again, Whitney received an email from the Alaska Airlines Group. The letter she received came from Alaska Airlines Corporate Security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am writing to inform you that we have placed a hold on your ability to travel with Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines<\/a>, and Horizon Air flights,” the email started. “This decision was based on reports we received regarding your recent travels with us. While we investigate, you are unable to travel on Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Horizon Air.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Upon conclusion of our investigation, we will reach out to you once again with a final decision. Thank you for your patience while we take the appropriate investigative steps,” the email added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to PYOK<\/a>, Alaska Airlines is assessing whether she should be placed on the no-fly list as part of that investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight Credit Which She Cannot Use<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lynn said she had planned to attend a follower’s funeral in California. She received a flight credit for the trip she was removed from, but said there is now no way for her to use it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said she intends to speak with a lawyer and plans to keep preaching on flights. She also claims to be banned from Frontier Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whitney Lynn Says Her Rights Were Infringed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Whitney says her First Amendment rights as a Christian are being infringed upon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I guarantee you if I stood up on that plane, and I talked about LGBTQ and pro abortion, and I hate Trump. I would probably get applauded,” she added in a follow-up video. “This is definitely a spiritual war. We know it’s the end times.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those statements reflect her own view. Alaska Airlines has not commented on them, and its published statement refers only to crew concern and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onboard Preaching Pattern<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lynn uses most of her flights as an opportunity to share her faith, a practice featured in a recent Washington Post article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has said passengers have no choice but to hear the truth, comparing her preaching to offering a life raft to someone who is drowning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a video the previous month, she preached for roughly a minute to passengers waiting to leave a flight in San Diego, covering sin, Hell, Heaven, redemption and Jesus while those around her stayed silent and did not look up. Beneath that clip, she wrote that she loves a captive audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She previously went viral in January 2025 after issuing a “prophetic warning” about the state of Los Angeles moments after her aircraft touched the tarmac at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is not the only evangelist preaching on aircraft. Brett Raio of Maine says he feels compelled to deliver his message because he believes God prompts him to speak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaska Airlines And Prayer Card History<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ban carries a notable irony for the carrier. Until only a little over a decade ago, Alaska Airlines flight attendants were expected to hand out “inspirational” prayer cards that quoted from Psalms to First Class passengers during the meal service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alaska has not explained why a sermon amounts to a safety concern, given Lynn’s account that nobody asked her to stop while she was speaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
