FARNBOROUGH\u2014<\/strong> Canada has officially joined the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) as its first observer nation, gaining access to classified discussions on one of the world’s most advanced sixth-generation fighter aircraft projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement was made at the Farnborough International Airshow near London Heathrow Airport (LHR),<\/a> where defense leaders from the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, and Canada outlined the next phase of cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move marks an important step in Canada’s long-term defense modernization strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the country continues preparing to receive its first Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II fighters, the government is also exploring future combat aviation technologies expected to enter service by 2035.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canada Joins GCAP Initiative<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
