ACCRA\u2013<\/strong> Emirates (EK)<\/a> has completed the first arrival of flight EK789 at Accra Kotoka International Airport (ACC), marking the launch of the airline’s new four-times-weekly service between Dubai and Ghana’s capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new operation increases Emirates’ presence in the West African market to 11 weekly flights, reflecting sustained passenger demand and stronger global connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inaugural arrival represents another milestone in Emirates’ long-standing operations in Ghana, where the airline has served the market since 2004. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By complementing its existing daily service, the additional frequency provides travelers with more flexible schedules and improved onward connections through Dubai to destinations across Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, and the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expanded Ghana Flight Network<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The newly introduced EK789 service operates every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, adding four weekly frequencies to Emirates’ existing daily flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The schedule has been designed with an early morning arrival in Accra, allowing passengers from major inbound markets such as India, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany to connect more conveniently through Dubai<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The return service also offers efficient onward connections for passengers departing Ghana. Through Emirates’ Dubai hub, travelers gain easier access to key commercial and leisure destinations across Asia, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salem Almana, Emirates’ Country Manager for Ghana, said the additional flights reinforce the airline’s long-term commitment to the Ghanaian market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that increasing travel demand has created the need for greater schedule flexibility while enabling customers to enjoy Emirates’ premium onboard products and hospitality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates Boeing 777 Onboard Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emirates operates the additional flights using its Boeing 777-300ER<\/a> fleet. The aircraft features eight private First Class suites, 42 fully lie-flat Business Class seats, and 304 Economy Class seats, providing capacity across all cabin classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers traveling from Ghana continue to receive Emirates’ full onboard experience, including regionally inspired meals and the airline’s ice inflight entertainment system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The platform offers more than 6,500 channels of movies, television shows, music, and other content in over 40 languages, including programming tailored for Ghanaian travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The additional frequencies also strengthen cargo connectivity between Ghana and global markets. Alongside passenger traffic, the expanded schedule increases opportunities for transporting time-sensitive exports and imports through Dubai’s international logistics network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long-Term Commitment for Ghana<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ghana Airports Company Limited welcomed the expanded operation, describing it as another sign of confidence in Ghana’s aviation sector and the country’s increasing demand for international air travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Managing Director Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare<\/strong> said the additional Emirates service will improve travel choices for passengers while supporting business, tourism, trade, and investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that the airport operator remains committed to working closely with Emirates and other airline partners to strengthen connectivity and position Accra as a leading aviation gateway for West Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since launching services to Ghana more than two decades ago, Emirates has steadily expanded its presence by connecting the country with international markets through Dubai. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest increase to 11 weekly flights further strengthens that network and supports growing passenger demand while reinforcing commercial and tourism links between Ghana and destinations across Emirates’ global route map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
