A comparison of the carrier&#8217;s international network in 2026 against 2025 confirms 13 routes that did not exist in the earlier schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new services range considerably in length and frequency. May marked the launch of new services to Budapest and Prague, both operated with the <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Boeing+787-8+Dreamliner\">Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner<\/a>. Each route is scheduled for 135 flights in 2026, offering 31,590 seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At New York JFK, American began flying the Airbus A321XLR to Edinburgh in March, with 230 rotations penciled in for 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>March also saw the first of 234 flights on the 787-8 from Miami to Milan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dallas Fort Worth gained new flights to Athens and Zurich, operated with the Boeing 777-200ER and 777-300ER. Four of them originate in Miami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The odd one out runs from Philadelphia to Cibao International Airport (STI), which serves Santiago de los Caballeros, the second-largest city in the Dominican Republic. American has penciled in 118 rotations with the Boeing 737.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the 4 new Miami routes, Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar International Airport (CCS) in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, is by far the most popular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>American has scheduled 471 rotations on the route in 2026, split between 149 flights with the Boeing 737-800 and 322 flights with <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/envoy-air\/\">Envoy Air&#8217;s<\/a> Embraer E175s. The route offers a grand total of 50,100 seats each way, and flights began in late April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elsewhere in Venezuela, American Airlines has scheduled 171 flights on its new route from Miami to La Chinita International Airport (MAR) in Maracaibo. These flights will also use E175s, and they are set to begin on July 14, as reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/american-airlines-new-international-routes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Simple Flying<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The E175 additionally serves the new route from Miami to Bimini, which began in February. Both originate at New York JFK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first serves Calgary International Airport (YYC) 26 times using the Boeing 737 MAX 8. These short-term flights will begin in August and operate until October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>American is eyeing a busier summer for its new route from JFK to Quebec City. Republic Airways will operate the service under the <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/american-eagle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">American Eagle<\/a> brand using Embraer E175 jets, with 69 rotations planned in total.
