GURUGRAM-<\/strong> An Air India (AI)<\/a> Boeing 777 bound for Delhi (DEL) discontinued its takeoff at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) on Tuesday evening after air traffic control issued an instruction to abort the run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline confirmed that the crew operating flight AI816 halted the departure and returned the aircraft to the bay. Airport sources linked the decision to an Air India Express (IX) Boeing 737 that had not cleared the runway after landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Delhi-bound flight AI816<\/strong> was in its takeoff roll at Mumbai airport<\/a> when air traffic control directed the pilots to stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crew followed the instruction, discontinued the run, and brought the widebody back to the parking bay. Air India acknowledged the event but did not state a reason for the aborted takeoff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its statement, the airline said the crew operating flight AI816 from Mumbai to Delhi discontinued the takeoff run after receiving an instruction from air traffic control and returned to the bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline added: “The aircraft will undergo necessary checks as per standard operating procedures. Meanwhile, alternative arrangements are being made to fly the passengers to their destination at the earliest.
