SAVANNAH-<\/strong> Gulfstream Aerospace<\/a> has reached two major milestones with its flagship G800 business jet, reinforcing its position in the ultra-long-range aviation market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Announced from Savannah\/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV), the aircraft claimed the company’s 800th city-pair speed record before completing what Gulfstream describes as the farthest and fastest flight in business aviation history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The achievements come less than a year after the Gulfstream G800<\/a> entered commercial service in August 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During separate flights in June 2026, the aircraft demonstrated both high-speed efficiency and exceptional long-range capability, strengthening Gulfstream’s next-generation business jet portfolio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Record Flights Showcase Capability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first milestone came earlier in June when a Gulfstream G800 completed a nonstop flight from Reykjavik Airport (RKV) in Iceland to Savannah\/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft covered 2,973 nautical miles (5,505 kilometers) in just 5 hours and 52 minutes while maintaining an average cruise speed of Mach 0.91.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That mission became Gulfstream’s 800th officially recognized city-pair speed record, extending a legacy that spans decades of business aviation development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the manufacturer, the entire Gulfstream fleet has now accumulated 815 speed records, with the G800 contributing 15 of them since entering service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second achievement followed on June 28 with a record-setting nonstop flight from Melbourne Airport (MEL)<\/a>, Australia, to Quad City International Airport (MLI) in Moline, Illinois. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft traveled 8,303 nautical miles (15,377 kilometers) in 16 hours and 56 minutes at an average cruise speed of Mach 0.85.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight exceeded the G800’s published 8,200-nautical-mile range at the same cruise speed, highlighting the aircraft’s operational capability under favorable flight conditions. Gulfstream said the mission established the farthest and fastest flight ever completed in business aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G800 Performance and Range<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gulfstream designed the G800 for ultra-long-range operations while balancing speed, fuel efficiency, and operational flexibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft offers a certified range of 8,200 nautical miles at Mach 0.85, 8,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.87, and 7,000 nautical miles at a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its maximum operating speed reaches Mach 0.935, allowing operators to shorten travel times on intercontinental missions. These capabilities make the G800 one of the highest-performing aircraft in the business aviation segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gulfstream President Mark Burns said the latest milestones reflect the company’s continued focus on advancing aircraft performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that both the 800th city-pair speed record and the industry-record flight demonstrate the strength of Gulfstream’s next-generation fleet and the capabilities built into the G800 platform. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabin Features and Comfort<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Beyond performance, the G800 is designed to improve passenger comfort during ultra-long flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cabin maintains a low cabin altitude of 2,840 feet while cruising at 41,000 feet and refreshes the cabin with 100% fresh air every two to three minutes through a plasma ionization purification system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers also benefit from 16 panoramic oval windows that increase natural light throughout the cabin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depending on customer requirements, the aircraft can be configured with up to four living areas or three living areas combined with a dedicated crew compartment, making it suitable for nonstop intercontinental travel lasting well over 16 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
