ATLANTA-<\/strong> Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> has expanded its Delta Sync entertainment platform by partnering with The Wall Street Journal, giving eligible passengers complimentary access to premium news articles and selected video content during their journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The publication joins The New York Times, which became part of Delta Sync earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers flying with Delta Air Lines can access content from both newspapers for 24 hours after signing into the airline’s onboard Wi-Fi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service is integrated into Delta Sync and is available through both the Wi-Fi portal and seatback entertainment system, extending access even after the flight has ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Sync With Premium News Content<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Delta Air Lines (DL) announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with The Wall Street Journal, expanding the range of premium content available through Delta Sync.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline described the newspaper as being known for “quality, reliability, and helping people navigate an increasingly complex world.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new agreement follows Delta’s partnership with The New York Times, which was introduced in April. At the time, Delta described the publication as “one of the world’s most trusted brands on board.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers who sign into Delta’s in-flight Wi-Fi receive complimentary access to both newspapers for 24 hours from the moment they connect. This access remains active after the flight, allowing travelers to continue reading once they have reached their destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much of the Delta Sync experience operates through the airline’s onboard Wi-Fi portal. That approach reportedly became a major point of disagreement during discussions with Starlink<\/a> over next-generation satellite internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports indicated that Delta wanted to retain its curated Delta Sync Wi-Fi portal, while Starlink preferred a simplified one-click login process for passengers. The two companies were reportedly unable to reach an agreement, and the discussions ended without a deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the unsuccessful talks, Delta selected Amazon Project Kuiper<\/a> to support its future satellite connectivity strategy. However, the service is not expected to be installed before at least mid-2027, as Amazon continues deploying thousands of additional low Earth orbit satellites needed for the network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During that period, several competing US airlines are expected to move ahead with Starlink deployments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Airlines<\/a> is expected to complete its fleet-wide rollout, while Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines continue expanding their own installations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines<\/a> has also announced plans to install Starlink on approximately 500 narrowbody Airbus aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
