LONDON\u2013<\/strong> British Airways (BA)<\/a> will launch a new nonstop seasonal route between London Heathrow Airport (LHR)<\/a> and Orlando International Airport (MCO) in just three weeks, expanding its already dominant transatlantic network during the peak summer travel season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new service begins on July 21 and will operate until August 29, targeting strong demand during the UK school holidays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Europe’s largest airline serving the United States, British Airways carried approximately 7.5 million round-trip passengers between the UK and the US in the 12 months ending March 2026, reinforcing its position as the leading transatlantic carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

British Airways’ London-Orlando Route<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new Heathrow-Orlando service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays using the airline’s 272-seat Boeing 777-200ER aircraft<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike some of British Airways’ larger long-haul aircraft, this version does not include a First Class cabin but offers the airline’s latest Club World Suites in business class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights will depart Heathrow at 8:20 a.m. local time and arrive in Orlando at 12:55 p.m. The return service leaves Orlando at 6:10 p.m. and lands in London at 7:45 a.m. the following day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks the first time British Airways has scheduled Heathrow-Orlando flights outside the pandemic period. The airline previously operated the route between 2021 and 2022 before shifting its Orlando operations primarily to London Gatwick Airport (LGW)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seasonal addition complements the airline’s existing twice-daily Gatwick-Orlando services during July, giving travelers more flexibility while helping meet increased holiday demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

British Airways’ US Network<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

British Airways will serve 28 US routes across 29 airports during July 2026. Twenty-six routes originate from Heathrow, while two continue from Gatwick, resulting in up to 51 daily departures to the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline has also expanded several existing services over the past year. Miami now receives two daily flights from Heathrow, while Las Vegas has increased to 10 weekly frequencies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austin and San Diego now consistently receive two daily flights throughout the week, and Cincinnati has gained an additional weekly service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, British Airways also inaugurated nonstop flights between Heathrow and St. Louis, restoring direct London service to the Missouri city after more than two decades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier also resumed flights to Dallas\/Fort Worth in late 2025, further strengthening its US presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BA’s Tampa Service Changes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

British Airways will continue adjusting its US network later this year. Beginning October 25, the airline will transfer its Tampa International Airport (TPA) service from Gatwick to Heathrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route will operate five times weekly using the Boeing 787-10 equipped with First Class, representing a shift toward a more premium product despite a lower overall seat count. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move is expected to improve profitability while allowing British Airways to compete more directly with Virgin Atlantic’s daily Heathrow-Tampa flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
