Kennedy International Airport (JFK)<\/a>, the A321neo assigned to Newark will not feature Delta One lie-flat business class seats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, passengers will be offered the carrier&#8217;s standard First Class cabin, placing the airline at a disadvantage against United&#8217;s premium-heavy service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The timing of the launch is notable because United recently expanded Polaris Business Class lounge access for premium passengers traveling between Newark and Los Angeles, strengthening its position in the high-yield corporate travel United States. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics DB1B data covering the four quarters from Q2 2024 through Q1 2025, United generated approximately <strong>$384 million<\/strong> in passenger revenue on the route, <a href=\"https:\/\/viewfromthewing.com\/delta-is-going-after-uniteds-384-million-newark-los-angeles-cash-cow-but-without-lie-flat-seats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">View From the Wing<\/a> flagged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only United&#8217;s Newark\u2013San Francisco service, which generated roughly $493 million, and Delta&#8217;s JFK\u2013Los Angeles route, at about $449 million, produced higher revenues during the same period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the market&#8217;s profitability, Delta&#8217;s limited schedule is unlikely to challenge United&#8217;s network dominance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>United benefits from extensive domestic and international connections through Newark, allowing the airline to enhanced premium facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delta is also preparing to open a second Delta One Lounge at Los Angeles, reinforcing its long-term investment in the airport.
