The cases involved an eight-year-old child injured on a flight from Athens International Airport (ATH) to Dublin Airport (DUB)<\/a> and an adult passenger who sustained a knee injury on a service from Shannon Airport (SNN) to Wroclaw Airport (WRO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The settlements bring attention to onboard passenger safety and the legal responsibilities airlines face when injuries occur during routine cabin operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While neither incident resulted in permanent disability, both claims proceeded through the Irish courts before reaching settlements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the cases involved Eoin Long, who recently turned eight years old. The child was six when he suffered burns during a Ryanair flight returning from Greece<\/a> to Ireland with his parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the flight, a cabin crew member was serving tea to the boy\u2019s father when hot liquid was accidentally spilled over the child\u2019s right arm and right thigh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident caused painful injuries and prompted immediate assistance from both a flight attendant and a nurse who happened to be seated nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the claim, a sales trolley collided with his left knee while cabin service was being conducted. Matkowski alleged that the resulting soft-tissue injury caused ongoing discomfort, particularly while driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The passenger initially sought damages of \u20ac60,000 through legal proceedings. However, the matter was ultimately resolved through a settlement reached before trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
