FORT WORTH-<\/strong> American Airlines (AA)<\/a> will become the first US carrier to serve 100 destinations across Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America following the launch of new routes from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Maracaibo, Venezuela (MAR), and Cap-Ha\u00eftien, Haiti (CAP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expansion strengthens the position of Miami International Airport as American Airlines’ largest gateway to the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier will begin flights to Maracaibo on July 14 and Cap-Ha\u00eftien on November 1, marking its 99th and 100th destinations in the Mexico, Caribbean, and Latin America network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines Latin America Destinations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As American Airlines celebrates its centennial year in 2026, the carrier continues to strengthen its position as the largest US airline serving Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anchored by its Miami<\/a> hub, the airline now offers more flights and destinations across the region than any other US carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“American connects the US with Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America better than any other airline,” said Nat Pieper, Chief Commercial Officer at American Airlines<\/strong>. “We are committed to serving the needs of travelers by offering the most flights to the most destinations in the region of any US carrier.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the addition of Maracaibo and Cap-Ha\u00eftien, American Airlines’ winter network across Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America will be nearly 50% larger than its closest US competitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier also provides nonstop access to several destinations not served by any other U.S. airline, including Anguilla (AXA), Bimini (BIM), Ocho Rios (OCJ), South Caicos (XSC), and Montevideo (MVD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest expansion further reinforces American Airlines’ long-term strategy of strengthening connectivity between the United States and key markets across Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Nonstop Flights to Maracaibo, Venezuela<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines will launch daily flights between Miami International Airport (MIA)<\/a> and La Chinita International Airport (MAR) on July 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service will make American Airlines the only US carrier offering nonstop flights to Maracaibo. The launch comes just weeks after the airline became the first carrier to resume flights between the United States and Venezuela, following the restart of services between Miami and Caracas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American currently operates twice-daily flights between Miami and Caracas. The addition of Maracaibo further expands its presence in Venezuela and gives the airline more service to the country than any other US carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights on the route will be operated using Embraer 175 aircraft featuring premium cabin seating and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi sponsored by AT&T.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route is expected to support business travel while improving connectivity for families and communities with ties to Venezuela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines Resumes Service to Haiti<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines will resume flights to Haiti on November 1 with daily service between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Cap-Ha\u00eftien International Airport (CAP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will become the first US carrier to announce the return of scheduled passenger flights to Haiti. Service will be operated using Boeing 737 aircraft<\/a> equipped with premium cabin seating and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi sponsored by AT&T.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haiti currently represents the largest Caribbean market by passenger demand without service from a US airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new route is expected to address that demand while restoring an important air link between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Florida is home to the largest Haitian-American population in the United States. Travelers from communities in New York, Orlando<\/a>, and other US cities will also gain access to convenient one-stop connections through Miami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miami Hub Sees Further Network Growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines continues to strengthen its position as Miami’s hometown airline, operating more than 410 peak daily departures from the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the winter season, the carrier will increase frequencies across several key destinations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
