DUBAI-<\/strong> Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates (EK)<\/a>, will begin dedicated weekly freighter flights to Almaty International Airport (ALA) in Kazakhstan from 16 June 2026. The Boeing 777F service will connect Almaty with Dubai (DXB) and mark the carrier’s first cargo destination in Central Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new route opens a fresh trade corridor that integrates the region into the airline’s global network. Operating every Tuesday from Dubai International Airport (DXB)<\/a>, the service will offer more than 100 tonnes of weekly cargo capacity for commodities moving between Almaty (ALA) and markets worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almaty is Kazakhstan’s largest city and a fast-growing commercial and logistics hub. The city serves as a key economic and trade gateway for Central Asia, making it a strategic entry point for Emirates SkyCargo’s regional ambitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weekly Boeing 777F<\/a> freighter service will support the seamless movement of high-demand commodities. These include electronics, perishables, machinery, and consumer goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By routing this cargo through Dubai, the carrier connects Almaty businesses to its wider international network spanning six continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo<\/strong>, described the launch as a step that reflects the carrier’s role as a global trade facilitator. He stated that the service expands the airline’s connectivity to a region experiencing dynamic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abbas added that the flights will give businesses in Almaty and the surrounding areas new opportunities to scale their international operations. The route also gives global customers rapid, wide-body cargo access to a strategic marketplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that the expansion supports the carrier’s long-term growth strategy and the D33 Dubai Economic Agenda, which aims to accelerate foreign trade and strengthen Dubai’s position as a global logistics hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fleet Growth Supports Network Expansion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emirates SkyCargo is expanding both its freighter fleet and global network in response to rising demand. The airline has received four new Boeing 777 freighters since March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six additional freighters are scheduled for delivery during the remainder of the year. These deliveries will grow the Emirates freighter fleet<\/a> to 22 aircraft by December 2026, strengthening the carrier’s capacity for future route launches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
