MANILA\u2014<\/strong> Singapore Airlines (SQ)<\/a> will permanently close its SilverKris Lounge at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) on June 15, 2026, ending more than a decade of operations at the Philippine gateway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closure comes as airport authorities move forward with a major redevelopment project affecting several facilities within Terminal 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision marks another significant change for premium travelers at Manila\u2019s busiest airport. Singapore Airlines confirmed that eligible passengers departing from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL)<\/a> will be redirected to an alternative lounge facility after the SilverKris Lounge ceases operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines Ends Manila Lounge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines announced that the SilverKris Lounge will operate for the final time on June 14, 2026. The facility has served premium passengers and elite frequent flyers since opening in July 2015 following the airline’s move into Terminal 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the carrier, redevelopment work at the airport requires the space currently occupied by the lounge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, the airline will permanently vacate the facility despite its long-standing presence at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Manila<\/a> SilverKris Lounge became notable for introducing Singapore Airlines\u2019 \u201cHome Away From Home\u201d design concept in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lounge featured Filipino-inspired artwork, dedicated workspaces, buffet dining, and views of aircraft operations on the tarmac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like many airport lounges worldwide, the facility temporarily closed during the COVID-19 pandemic before resuming operations in May 2022. Since reopening, it has supported passengers traveling on Singapore Airlines\u2019 daily services from Manila, MileLion<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passenger Access Changes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Following the closure, Singapore Airlines will provide eligible travelers access to the First Meridian Lounge, located on Level 4 of Terminal 3. The airline stated that premium customers will continue receiving lounge benefits despite the transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access will remain available for First Class<\/a> and Business Class passengers, as well as qualifying frequent flyer members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligible travelers include PPS Club members, KrisFlyer Elite Gold members, Star Alliance Gold members, and select Virgin Australia Velocity frequent flyers traveling on Singapore Airlines services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests accompanying eligible passengers must travel on the same flight in accordance with Star Alliance lounge policies. However, the closure will remove a specific benefit previously enjoyed by Solitaire PPS Club members traveling on Scoot services from Manila.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industry observers expect the First Meridian Lounge to offer modern amenities, including workspaces, dining facilities, and dedicated relaxation areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Limiting access primarily to premium travelers and elite members may also help reduce overcrowding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Terminal Redevelopment Impact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines is not the only airline affected by the ongoing redevelopment project at Manila Airport. Cathay Pacific (CX)<\/a> has also announced the permanent closure of its airport lounge as authorities reconfigure parts of Terminal 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The redevelopment reflects broader efforts to modernize infrastructure at Ninoy Aquino International Airport and improve passenger facilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the changes may temporarily reduce airline-branded lounge options, airport authorities aim to enhance the overall terminal experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closure of the SilverKris Lounge also reduces Singapore Airlines\u2019 overseas lounge network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline continues to operate SilverKris Lounges in key international markets, including Bangkok, Brisbane, Hong Kong, London, Melbourne<\/a>, Perth, Seoul, Sydney, and Taipei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Singapore Airlines passengers departing Manila, June 14, 2026, will mark the final opportunity to visit a lounge that has served travelers for nearly 11 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the SilverKris Lounge will disappear from Terminal 3, premium lounge services will remain available through the airline\u2019s new partnership arrangement at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
