TOKYO-<\/strong> A Japan Airlines (JAL)<\/a> Boeing 767 made an emergency landing<\/a> at Narita International Airport (NRT) on Friday after a mechanical issue was reported during a domestic flight from Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) to Kagoshima Airport (KOJ) in southwestern Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft was carrying 218 passengers and 8 crew members when the incident occurred. The flight landed safely at Narita International Airport (NRT), and no injuries were reported among those on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Japan Airlines Boeing 767 Makes Emergency Landing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A Japan Airlines (JL) passenger jet was forced to make an emergency landing at Narita International Airport (NRT)<\/a> after a tire is believed to have burst during takeoff from Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND), according to Japan’s transport ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Boeing 767 had departed Haneda Airport and was en route to Kagoshima Airport (KOJ) in southwestern Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline confirmed that 218 passengers and eight crew members were on board at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft landed safely at approximately 11:55 AM at Narita Airport. No injuries were reported following the emergency landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to The Mainichi<\/a>, authorities immediately began investigating the circumstances surrounding the mechanical issue after the aircraft arrived safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the emergency landing, Narita Airport’s Runway A was closed for around two hours while officials carried out inspections and investigated the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The temporary closure allowed airport authorities to examine the aircraft and assess any potential impact on runway operations before normal activity resumed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Debris Discovered on Haneda Runway<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

According to the transport ministry’s Tokyo airport office, debris was later found on Haneda Airport’s Runway D, which had been used by the aircraft during takeoff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities closed Runway D from around 10:30 AM while examining whether the debris was related to the incident involving the Japan Airlines aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After inspections were completed, the runway reopened at approximately 1:45 p.m. Officials have not yet confirmed whether the debris originated from the aircraft involved in the emergency landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
