MUNICH-<\/strong> Lufthansa (LH)<\/a> is sharpening its premium focus for the 2026\/27 winter season by expanding its long-haul network and rolling out the new Allegris cabin to more destinations. The carrier will add eleven new long-haul routes from Frankfurt (FRA) and Munich (MUC), each featuring the upgraded three-class interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wider Lufthansa Group is growing too, with SWISS (LX), ITA Airways (AZ), Brussels Airlines (SN), Discover Airlines (4Y), Edelweiss (WK), and Eurowings (EW) all adding services. New routes reach destinations from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Bengaluru (BLR)<\/a> to Santo Domingo (SDQ) and Kilimanjaro (JRO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lufthansa Brings Allegris to Eleven New Routes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lufthansa introduced the Allegris cabin in 2024 to give passengers in every travel class a personalized experience built on innovative seating, high-quality materials, and modern technology. After launching the new in-flight service on all long-haul flights in early May, the airline will now widen the number of Allegris destinations from this winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eight of the eleven new routes depart from Frankfurt<\/strong>. These include Vancouver (Canada), Houston (USA), Denver (USA), Atlanta (USA), Detroit (USA), San Jos\u00e9 (Costa Rica), Seoul (South Korea), and Kuala Lumpur. The nonstop service to Malaysia’s capital begins on October 25 and operates five times a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Munich, the new Allegris destinations are Singapore<\/a> from late October, Washington (USA) in March 2027, and Cape Town (South Africa).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lufthansa will deploy the new Boeing 787-9<\/a> on the Kuala Lumpur route. The aircraft seats 287 passengers across three classes and carries the new Allegris cabin. The same aircraft and cabin will serve the Frankfurt to Chennai (India) route starting in March, strengthening the airline’s presence across Southeast Asia and South Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Frequencies on Key Transatlantic and Long-Haul Routes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the new destinations, Lufthansa will raise weekly frequencies on several high-demand routes this winter. From Frankfurt, this covers flights to Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), San Jos\u00e9 (Costa Rica), Bogot\u00e1 (Colombia), Lagos (Nigeria), and Hyderabad (India).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Munich<\/a>, added frequencies apply to S\u00e3o Paulo (Brazil), Mexico City, Johannesburg (South Africa), and Washington (USA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SWISS Adds Southern India and Expands SWISS Senses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SWISS<\/a> is broadening its 2026\/27 winter schedule by adding Bengaluru as its first destination in southern India. The airline will also bring its new long-haul experience, SWISS Senses, to Johannesburg (South Africa) and Shanghai (China) this winter aboard the Airbus A350.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ITA Airways Opens a New Route to the Caribbean<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

ITA Airways<\/a> will launch a seasonal direct route from Rome-Fiumicino (FCO) to Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) for the 2026\/27 winter season, marking its first route into the Central American region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winter schedule will also retain two routes first introduced during the summer season: Rome-Fiumicino to Houston (USA) and Rome-Fiumicino to London Heathrow (UK).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brussels Airlines Extends Kilimanjaro Service Into Winter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Brussels Airlines<\/a> will open a new route between Brussels and Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) on June 3. Planned originally as a summer service, the route will continue through winter due to strong demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will operate one weekly flight between October 28 and December 16, then two weekly flights between December 19 and February 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discover Airlines Adds Morocco and Finnish Lapland<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Discover Airlines is adding two Moroccan destinations from late October. The holiday carrier will connect Frankfurt with the coastal city of Agadir and offer the only direct service from Munich to the royal city of F\u00e8s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline is also extending its Nordic offering by adding Ivalo in Finnish Lapland for the first time, with a weekly direct flight from Munich operating from mid-December to mid-April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edelweiss Strengthens Scandinavian and Leisure Routes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Edelweiss is responding to strong demand for Scandinavia by expanding service to Finland and Norway and extending the Lule\u00e5 (Swedish Lapland) season, first added last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline plans further flights to all three countries and will confirm details in the coming weeks. Edelweiss will also raise capacity to the Canary Islands, Faro, Bilbao, Seville, and Mallorca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eurowings Builds Out Its Winter European Network<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Eurowings, Germany’s largest holiday airline, is expanding its 2026\/27 winter schedule with high-demand European routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the market leader in Berlin, it is strengthening its service to European cities and Nordic winter destinations, including a new route from Berlin to Kuusamo in Finnish Lapland. The airline is also adding frequencies to Rovaniemi and Kittil\u00e4 in Finland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eurowings continues its “Capital Express” from Berlin, with a route to Rome launching on November 2 and flights to London Heathrow (UK) offered through the winter. From D\u00fcsseldorf, the airline will extend its Madrid (Spain) service beyond summer to operate year-round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All destinations in the 2026\/27 winter flight schedule are now open for booking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
