HONG KONG-<\/strong> A 51-year-old passenger died after a medical emergency on a Cathay Pacific (CX)<\/a> flight from Manchester (MAN) to Hong Kong (HKG). The incident involved rapid coordination between the onboard crew and ground emergency services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline confirmed that the passenger first fainted during the flight, and despite immediate medical assistance and emergency response on landing, he could not be revived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cathay Pacific Passenger Died Mid-Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cathay Pacific (CX) flight CX216 departed Manchester Airport (MAN)<\/a> on April 23, operating a long-haul service to Hong Kong (HKG)<\/a>. During the flight, a 51 year old male passenger surnamed Chen fainted, prompting an immediate response from the cabin crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A doctor onboard assisted the crew in providing first aid. The passenger initially regained some attention but later became unresponsive. His wife, who was traveling with him, checked on him regularly throughout the journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approximately 2 hours before landing, she noticed that he was no longer responsive and alerted the cabin crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hong Kong Air Traffic Control Centre was notified at approximately 6:16 AM on April 24. The Fire Services Department was immediately informed and arranged for an ambulance to be on standby at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft arrived in Hong Kong at approximately 6:52 AM, with another report noting arrival at around 6:53 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite continuous first aid efforts onboard and immediate paramedic intervention on the ground, the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
