The base launch marks a major expansion milestone as the airline celebrates 20 years of operations in Morocco and 20 million passengers carried across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>easyJet CEO Kenton Jarvis, Moroccan National Tourist Office (MNTO) Director Achraf Fayda, and National Airports Office (ONDA) Director Adel El Fakir attended the launch event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside the base opening, easyJet (U2) announced six new routes to Morocco for Winter 2026. Prague (PRG), Newcastle (NCL), and Zurich (ZRH) to Marrakech (RAK) are now on sale, while Nantes (NTE) to Essaouira (ESU), Bordeaux (BOD) to Agadir (AGA), and Birmingham (BHX) to Agadir (AGA) will go on sale later this spring. The agreement enabled the airline to commit three aircraft permanently at RAK, offering a record 4 million seats in the base&#8217;s first year of operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new base has <strong>created 100 direct jobs and thousands of indirect positions<\/strong> in the region. It cements easyJet&#8217;s position as the second largest airline in Marrakech and the third largest in Morocco overall. Hamburg (HAM) to Marrakech (RAK) launches on 1 May 2026 with two weekly flights on Tuesday and Friday. The route will continue into the winter season with the same twice-weekly frequency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lille (LIL) to Marrakech (RAK) starts operations on 3 May 2026, flying twice a week on Wednesday and Sunday. Strasbourg (SXB) to Marrakech (RAK) also begins on 3 May 2026 with two weekly flights on Thursday and Sunday.
