KUALA LUMPUR\u2014<\/strong> Malaysia Airlines (MH)<\/a> is expanding its East Asia network with the return of direct flights to Fukuoka (FUK), Japan, and the launch of new services to Shenzhen (SZX) and Changsha (CSX), China. These additions, commencing between July and September 2026, bring the airline’s China network to nine key gateways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tickets for all three new routes went on sale on 3 April 2026, opening access to a growing pool of business and leisure travelers flying from Kuala Lumpur (KUL). The airline is also increasing frequencies on existing routes to Brisbane, Manila, Colombo, and London to meet rising demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malaysia Airlines to Restart Fukuoka Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Malaysia Airlines will launch daily services between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Shenzhen (SZX) from 1 July 2026, operating seven flights per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Services to Changsha (CSX) follow on 8 July 2026, also at a daily frequency. Both routes target high-growth demand across business and leisure travel segments linking Malaysia with two of China’s fastest-developing cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will resume flights to Fukuoka (FUK) from 2 September 2026, operating five times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malaysia Airlines last served Fukuoka in September 2006, making this return a near 20-year gap in the route’s history. The airline will be the only carrier operating a direct, non-stop service<\/strong> between Kuala Lumpur (KUL)<\/a> and Fukuoka (FUK) at launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these additions, Malaysia Airlines now serves nine destinations across Greater China<\/strong>, including Beijing (PKX)<\/a>, Shanghai (PVG), Guangzhou (CAN), Xiamen (XMN), Hong Kong (HKG), Taipei (TPE), and Chengdu Tianfu (TFU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG)<\/strong>, said the expansion reflects the airline’s strategic focus on scaling its presence in key growth markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that Kuala Lumpur’s role as a regional gateway is central to this growth, with the Fukuoka route positioning MH as the sole carrier on a non-stop corridor between the two cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malaysia Airlines at MATTA Fair 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As the returning Official Airline Partner and Premier Sponsor of MATTA Fair 2026, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) unveiled the MAG Arena, recognized by both the Asia Records and ASEAN Records as Asia’s Largest Airline Trade Pavilion at a consumer travel fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pavilion spans approximately 46,000 square feet, nearly three times the size of MAG’s participation at the September 2025 edition.
