LONDON-<\/strong> Virgin Atlantic (VS)<\/a> is significantly expanding its service between London Heathrow (LHR) and Bangalore (BLR), increasing weekly flights from 7 to 13 starting June 1, 2026. The airline will operate the route exclusively with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This expansion is part of a broader wave of network changes for the Northern Summer 2026 season, which also includes capacity adjustments on routes to North America, the Middle East, and other key markets, Aeroroutes<\/a> flagged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virgin Atlantic Expands Bangalore Route<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Effective June 1, 2026, Virgin Atlantic will grow its London Heathrow (LHR) to Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore (BLR)<\/a> service from 7 to 13 weekly flights, all operated by the Boeing 787-9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The expansion adds both outbound and return frequencies across multiple departure slots throughout the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the LHR to BLR direction, VS316 departs daily at 15:40, arriving at 06:10 the next day. VS346 operates with three different configurations depending on the day: a 20:50 departure on Sundays, a 22:20 departure on Saturdays, and a 22:25 departure on days excluding Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the return BLR to LHR leg, VS317 operates daily at 08:00, arriving at 14:15. VS347 covers the remaining days with departures at 14:40 on Mondays and Sundays, 14:45 on Saturdays, and 14:50 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the London Heathrow (LHR) to New York JFK<\/a> route, Virgin Atlantic (VS) is increasing overall weekly service from 42 to 45 flights by late April 2026, excluding the late July to early September period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Total one-way seat capacity from LHR to JFK across the full season now stands at 383,781, up from the originally filed 349,514. Multiple flight numbers see aircraft swaps, with a mix of Airbus A330-900neo and A350-1000 variants deployed across various services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The London Heathrow (LHR) to Las Vegas (LAS) route will increase from 7 to 10-11 weekly flights effective August 31, 2026, using the Boeing 787-9<\/a>. From September 8 to October 14, 2026, the full schedule operates across three departure slots in each direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London Heathrow (LHR) to Los Angeles (LAX) sees revised aircraft deployment from October 1, 2026, with the 787-9 operating on alternating days alongside the A350-1000. VS141\/142 switches to the 787-9 from March 29, 2026, operating daily for the full season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London Heathrow (LHR) to Toronto Pearson (YYZ) now operates with the A350-1000 effective March 29, 2026, replacing the 787-9. The 397-seat configuration runs on days excluding Wednesdays, while the 335-seat variant covers Wednesdays, maintaining 1 daily flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London Heathrow (LHR) to Washington Dulles (IAD) sees 3 of its 7 weekly flights switch from the 787-9 to the A330-900neo between March 29 and April 19, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London Heathrow (LHR) to Miami (MIA) undergoes a series of aircraft changes throughout the season across both VS005\/006 and VS117\/118 services, cycling through the A350-1000, A330-900neo, A330-300, and Boeing 787-9 depending on travel dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the London Heathrow (LHR)<\/a> to Delhi (DEL) route, VS302\/303 will operate with the 397-seat A350-1000 daily from April 1 to October 13, 2026, replacing a mixed schedule that previously included one weekly 335-seat service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall operation remains 1 daily flight in each of the A350-1000 and 787-9 configurations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London Heathrow (LHR) to Mumbai (BOM) sees VS358\/359 switch to the 335-seat A350-1000 from March 29 to May 15, 2026, replacing the 787-9, while the overall 1 daily frequency per aircraft type is maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leisure and Caribbean Routes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

London Heathrow (LHR) to Montego Bay (MBJ) reduces from the originally filed daily service to 4 weekly flights from March 29, 2026, using the A330-900neo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virgin Atlantic (VS) announced on March 30, 2026, its intent to restore daily service by June 1, 2026, with reservations for the additional flights opening on April 4, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London Heathrow (LHR) to Tampa (TPA) goes through multiple aircraft changes across the season, with the A350-1000, A330-900neo, and other types covering different periods, while maintaining 1 daily flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manchester (MAN) to Las Vegas (LAS) sees a reduction from 3 to 2 weekly flights between July 19 and August 30, 2026, operated by the 397-seat A350-1000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virgin Atlantic (VS) announced on March 30, 2026, an extended cancellation of its London Heathrow (LHR) to Riyadh (RUH) service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline had tentatively planned a resumption from April 8, 2026, with a reduced frequency of 6 weekly flights using the A330-900neo, dropping further to 5 weekly flights between April 16 and June 12, 2026. Those plans are now suspended indefinitely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
