FRANKFURT\u2014<\/strong> Lufthansa Cargo (LH)<\/a> has rolled out its summer 2026 flight schedule, reinforcing its position in global air freight through expanded freighter operations and enhanced belly cargo capacity. The updated network took effect on March 29, 2026, and introduces greater flexibility for customers navigating evolving supply chain demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operating from its primary hub at Frankfurt Airport (FRA)<\/a>, the cargo carrier will deploy a fleet of 18 Boeing 777 freighters across a wide international network. Key global gateways such as Delhi (DEL), Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), Shanghai (PVG), and Los Angeles (LAX)<\/a> remain central to its long-haul operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lufthansa Cargo’s Global Network Growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lufthansa Cargo will operate up to 87 weekly freighter flights<\/strong> covering as many as 35 destinations worldwide. Asia continues to play a vital role, with up to 48 weekly connections <\/strong>linking 17 destinations across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline has increased its transpacific operations, adding a second weekly rotation on the Ho Chi Minh City\u2013Shanghai\u2013Los Angeles route. This makes it the only carrier offering main deck cargo capacity between Vietnam and China<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

India also sees renewed focus as Delhi re-enters the freighter network with a weekly service. This addition increases total weekly cargo connectivity to the Indian market to six flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lufthansa’s Expanded European Hubs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The carrier is strengthening its European footprint through six strategic hubs, including Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Brussels, Rome, and Zurich. This network allows efficient cargo distribution across Europe and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Short- and medium-haul Airbus A321<\/a> freighters now serve Rome and Algiers weekly, contributing to 33 intra-European and Africa-linked connections. These routes enable faster turnaround and improved regional connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhanced cooperation with SWISS WorldCargo supports operational synergies and aligns service offerings. This collaboration allows customers to access one of the most comprehensive cargo networks in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increased Belly Capacity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lufthansa Cargo continues to leverage the extensive passenger network within the Lufthansa Group to expand its cargo reach. The inclusion of Lufthansa City Airlines into the belly cargo portfolio further boosts network flexibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several long-haul passenger routes now offer increased cargo capacity. These include expanded services from Frankfurt to St. Louis, Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro, Raleigh\/Durham, and Nairobi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional frequencies to Washington and Toronto, along with resumed services to Minneapolis and Los Angeles, strengthen North American connectivity. Meanwhile, Munich continues to support key long-haul routes to S\u00e3o Paulo and Johannesburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other group carriers, including Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, ITA Airways, and SunExpress, are also expanding routes and frequencies. These additions collectively contribute to more than 7,500 weekly belly cargo flights<\/strong> to over 350 global destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lufthansa Cargo\u2019s combined freighter and belly strategy enhances its ability to respond quickly to market changes. The airline aims to support global trade with reliable, efficient logistics solutions while continuing its growth across key international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
