SYDNEY-<\/strong> Singapore Airlines (SQ)<\/a> will launch daily non-stop flights between Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) and Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) from 23 November 2026, pending approvals. The route will use Airbus A350-900 medium-haul aircraft with 303 seats across Business and Economy cabins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new service complements existing flights to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD), increasing Singapore Airlines\u2019 total Sydney frequency to five daily flights and improving access to Greater Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines Western Sydney Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines will introduce flight SQ201 from Singapore (SIN) to Western Sydney (WSI), departing at 11:30 and arriving at 22:20 local time. The return service, SQ202, will depart Western Sydney at 23:55 and arrive in Singapore at 05:05 the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 28 March 2027, minor schedule adjustments will apply, including earlier arrival times during daylight saving periods. The service will operate daily using Airbus A350-900 medium-haul aircraft configured with 40 Business Class and 263 Economy Class seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Airbus A350 Medium Haul<\/a> deployed on this route features Singapore Airlines\u2019 2018 Regional Business Class cabin in a 1-2-1 layout with direct aisle access for all seats. While narrower than long-haul Business Class seats, the configuration supports comfort on medium-haul routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a flight time of around eight hours, this route ranks among the longest operated with this cabin product. Premium Economy and First Class are not available on this service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This route marks Singapore Airlines\u2019 entry into Western Sydney International Airport, a new 24-hour airport designed to handle growing passenger demand in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strengthening Singapore\u2013Australia Connectivity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the addition of Western Sydney (WSI), Singapore Airlines will serve eight destinations in Australia: Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney (SYD), and Sydney (WSI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will maintain four daily flights to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD), operated by a mix of Airbus A380, Airbus A350-900 long-haul, and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft<\/a>. Combined, these services position Sydney as one of Singapore Airlines\u2019 highest-capacity international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, continues to operate flights to Melbourne (MEL), Perth (PER), and Sydney (SYD), further expanding the group\u2019s footprint in Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operational Advantage of Western Sydney Airport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Western Sydney International Airport offers 24-hour operations without curfew restrictions. This allows late-night departures such as SQ202, improving onward connectivity via Singapore Changi Airport (SIN)<\/a> to more than 130 global destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airport serves the Greater Western Sydney region, which has a population exceeding three million and represents Australia\u2019s third-largest economy. It also provides access to key tourism regions such as the Blue Mountains and Western New South Wales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The addition of this airport gives travelers more flexibility in flight timings and airport choice within the Sydney metropolitan area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Western Sydney International Airport is expected to begin domestic operations in October 2026, ahead of international services. The airport is still pending final regulatory approvals to operate as a commercial aerodrome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility will initially operate with a single runway and terminal, with long-term plans to expand into a two-runway, four-terminal airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lounge Access and Passenger Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The WSI terminal includes approximately 4,000 square metres of lounge space. However, Singapore Airlines is unlikely to open a dedicated SilverKris Lounge at launch due to limited initial frequency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligible passengers, including Business Class travelers and frequent flyer members, are expected to use a third-party lounge provider. Plaza Premium is a likely partner based on existing operations at other Australian airports, Mainly Miles<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transport and Connectivity Challenges<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Western Sydney International Airport is located around 44 km from Sydney\u2019s central business district. Travel time by car is estimated at 45 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The M12 motorway will provide direct road access. A major rail project, the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport line, will connect the airport to St Mary’s station. However, the metro is now expected to open in 2027, after the airport begins operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the interim, passengers will rely on bus connections and existing rail links, which may require transfers to reach central Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ticket Availability and Launch Timeline<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Tickets for the new Western Sydney route will be progressively released across Singapore Airlines\u2019 booking platforms starting 25 March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All services remain subject to regulatory approvals. The launch aligns with the opening phase of Western Sydney International Airport, positioning it as a major new aviation hub in Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
