MELBOURNE\u2014<\/strong> Jetstar Airways (JQ)<\/a> has introduced a new upgrade feature that allows passengers to bid for Business Class seats on international flights, starting from as low as $180. The initiative, branded as \u201cBidCash,\u201d aims to make premium travel more accessible across its long-haul network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The product launch coincides with major upgrades to Jetstar\u2019s Boeing 787 Dreamliner<\/a> fleet, which operates from key hubs such as Melbourne (MEL). The airline is enhancing its onboard offering to meet rising demand for premium seating on international routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jetstar\u2019s BidCash system allows eligible passengers to place a monetary bid for a Business Class upgrade before departure. Customers can either receive an invitation via email or access the bidding platform directly through the airline\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process begins with checking eligibility, followed by selecting a bid amount using a sliding scale. Each route has a defined minimum and maximum bid, which varies depending on demand and distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, introductory bids on the Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City route start at $180 per passenger. After placing a bid, travelers receive confirmation closer to departure on whether the upgrade has been accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BidCash rollout aligns with Jetstar\u2019s extensive refurbishment of its Boeing 787 fleet. The first upgraded aircraft recently completed modifications in Hong Kong and will re-enter service shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The redesigned Business Class cabin will expand from 21 seats to 44 seats, more than doubling premium capacity. This increase responds to sustained demand for higher comfort on long-haul flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
