DELHI-<\/strong> Tata Group-owned Air India (AI)<\/a> will deploy a Boeing 777 with First Class suites on its daily Delhi\u2013Melbourne service starting July 1, 2026, upgrading passenger comfort on the route, Executive Traveller<\/a> flagged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights will operate between Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) and Melbourne Airport (MEL), replacing the Boeing 787 currently used on the service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India First Class to Melbourne<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Air India will introduce a Boeing 777 aircraft featuring premium cabins previously operated by Etihad Airways, marking a significant upgrade for passengers flying between India and Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft is part of six Boeing 777 jets originally flown by Etihad Airways and leased by Air India in 2023. Air India completed the purchase of these aircraft in 2025, integrating them into its long-haul fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the front of the aircraft are eight Diamond First Class suites, offering enclosed private spaces designed for long-haul comfort. Each suite includes walls up to 1.6 meters high, a sliding privacy door, and a seat that converts into a fully flat bed measuring approximately two meters in length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behind the First Class cabin, the aircraft features 40 Pearl Business Class seats arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, giving every passenger direct aisle access. According to Aeroroutes<\/a>, Air India (AI) will replace its Boeing 777-300ER with the newer Boeing 787-9 on select Delhi (DEL) to Toronto (YYZ) flights starting August 2026, adjusting capacity and cabin offerings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route continues with 10 weekly services, while network updates also introduce new Boeing 787 aircraft across major European routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India\u2019s schedule update confirms deployment of the 278-seat Boeing 787-9 on AI187 and AI188 flights between Delhi and Toronto beginning August 2026. The service currently uses the larger Boeing 777-300ER.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
