LONDON\u2013<\/strong> British Airways (BA)<\/a> has unveiled its latest Avios-Only flights, offering exclusive reward-seat services from London City Airport (LCY)<\/a> to Madrid (MAD) and Toulon Hy\u00e8res Airport (TLN) this summer. The announcement marks a milestone for the airline as it prepares to operate its 50th Avios-Only flight since the concept launched in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seats on the two new routes will be available exclusively to members of The British Airways Club from February 12, 2026. Fares start at \u00a32 plus 21,500 Avios for Toulon and \u00a32 plus 28,000 Avios for Madrid, with each ticket including a 23kg checked baggage allowance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

British Airways 50th Avios-Only Routes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Madrid Avios-Only service will operate over the late May bank holiday weekend. Flight BA3272 will depart London City at 11:00 on May 22, 2026, arriving in Madrid at 14:20, while the return flight BA3273 departs Madrid at 15:10 on May 25, landing back at 16:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Return fares for Madrid start from \u00a32 and 28,000 Avios in Euro Traveller, or \u00a330 and 49,000 Avios in Club Europe. The route targets leisure travelers seeking a short city break in one of Europe\u2019s leading cultural capitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Toulon Saint-Tropez Avios-Only service will operate from June 13 to June 20, 2026. Flight BA8747 departs London City at 07:00, arriving in Toulon at 10:00, with the return BA8748 leaving at 10:45 and arriving back at 11:50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Return fares to Toulon begin at \u00a32 and 21,500 Avios in Euro Traveller, or \u00a330 and 36,000 Avios in Club Europe. The destination offers direct access to the French Riviera and proximity to Saint-Tropez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Avios-Only concept ensures that every seat onboard is made available as a reward seat. Customers can book in Euro Traveller or Club Europe cabins through the airline\u2019s website, using Avios at fixed redemption rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avios-Only Milestone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since introducing Avios-Only flights in 2023, British Airways has operated 48 such services to 16 destinations across Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Popular past destinations have included Cape Town, Barbados, M\u00e1laga, Marrakesh, and Sharm El Sheikh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The return Madrid service in May will mark the airline\u2019s 50th Avios-Only flight, including operations by BA Cityflyer and BA Euroflyer. The milestone underscores the airline\u2019s strategy to strengthen loyalty engagement during peak travel seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

British Airways guarantees a minimum number of reward seats on all routes throughout its network. On short-haul services from Heathrow and Gatwick, at least 12 reward seats are available, while London City flights guarantee four reward seats on standard services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Avios-Only flights differ because 100 percent of seats are allocated for redemption. This structure increases availability for loyalty members and supports predictable redemption pricing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loyalty Program Expansion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The British Airways Club continues to expand its offering through partnerships and enhanced earning opportunities. Members can collect Avios by flying with partner airlines, shopping with over 2,000 retailers, or spending with financial partners such as American Express and Nectar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customers holding a British Airways American Express Credit Card can also apply Companion Vouchers to Avios-Only bookings. These vouchers allow a second passenger to travel for no additional Avios, subject to taxes and charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
