The flight was scheduled to depart for Dallas Love Field (DAL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the aircraft accelerated down the runway, a private Pilatus PC-12 general aviation aircraft inadvertently turned onto Runway 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The runway was already active, and the conflict immediately created a high-risk situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Air traffic control reacted instantly after recognizing that the clearance they had just issued could no longer be used safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">San Antonio ATC: \u201cSH*T! The sequence required rapid coordination among several aircraft within a very short time window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">According to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/viewfromthewing.com\/oh-sht-cancel-takeoff-clearance-southwest-737-aborts-as-private-plane-turns-onto-runway\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">View from the Wing<\/a>, the Southwest 737 was accelerating at<\/span> approximately 100 knots when the takeoff clearance was canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although this is a high speed, it remains within certified limits that allow the crew to safely perform a rejected takeoff if they respond immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A delayed response at this speed could have significantly reduced stopping margins.
