Speaking at the airline\u2019s third-quarter briefing on January 21, he argued that staffing shortages, not infrastructure limits, remain the core cause of delays across French airspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O\u2019Leary added that weekend absenteeism during the peak schedule has become a recurring issue rather than an exception. Ryanair Impacted By French ATC Strikes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

French air traffic control strikes have repeatedly coincided with peak travel periods, amplifying their impact on airlines and passengers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In early July last year, coordinated walkouts disrupted the end-of-school holiday rush and forced carriers to cancel hundreds of flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryanair alone cancelled at least 170 services during the two-day action, affecting more than 30,000 passengers. According to Eurocontrol data, French air traffic control accounted for 31 percent of all ATC-related delays in Europe during summer 2025, the highest share on the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
