The return flight EY285 from Lahore to Abu Dhabi, scheduled for January 17, was also cancelled for the same reason.

On January 15, flight EY284 from Abu Dhabi to Lahore operated with a delay. This delay caused a knock-on impact on the return service EY285 from Lahore to Abu Dhabi on January 16, which also departed late.

Weather issues extended to southern Pakistan as well. Etihad confirmed that flight EY299 from Karachi to Abu Dhabi on January 15 was delayed after adverse weather conditions reduced visibility at Karachi airport.

Pakistan has been experiencing a widespread cold spell. Northern and hilly regions recorded freezing temperatures, while plains and coastal cities faced dense fog, cold nights, and poor morning visibility.
