On December 28, 2025, airport authorities in Colombo activated emergency security procedures following an email warning of explosive devices onboard Qatar Airways flight QR664. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner landed without incident, carrying 245 passengers and 12 crew members. Immediately after touchdown, the aircraft was guided to an isolated parking bay away from terminal operations. The aircraft involved was a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, registered as A7-BCG. Planespotters.net data shows the aircraft is approximately 12.5 years old and part of Qatar Airways long haul fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight QR664 was scheduled to depart Colombo for Doha at 10:15 a.m. local time. Due to the extended security operation, departure was delayed. The aircraft eventually departed at 1:07 p.m. after receiving full clearance from security authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
