The service will mark the first time this ultra-long-haul market has ever been operated nonstop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new route expands EVA Air\u2019s North American network to ten destinations and strengthens Star Alliance connectivity. The aircraft features 3 cabins designed for long haul comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Business class includes 26 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. Premium economy offers 28 seats in a 2-3-2 layout with a generous 42 inch seat pitch. Photo- Wikipedia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-washington-dulles-makes-sense\">Why Washington Dulles Makes Sense<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Washington DC metropolitan area is home to more than 320,000 Asian residents, including approximately 14,000 Taiwanese nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While this alone does not guarantee route success, historical booking data provides clearer insight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 12 months ending October 2025, the combined Washington region airports of Dulles, Reagan National, and Baltimore handled roughly 38,000 two-way passengers traveling to or from Taipei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taipei did not rank among the top 10 Asian markets from the region, but the foundation was considered sufficient for growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Importantly, fare data indicates strong premium demand. This partnership significantly enhances the attractiveness of the route for onward US travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EVA Air has also stated that around 6 out of 10 US passengers connect onward in Taipei. By August, following the launch, the airline plans 98 weekly departures to the region, equivalent to fourteen daily flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This will give EVA Air more than half of all nonstop Taiwan to North America services. The carrier will operate significantly more flights than <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/china-airlines\/\">China Airlines<\/a>, with 40 weekly departures, <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/starlux\/\">STARLUX<\/a> with 29 departures, United Airlines with 16 departures, and <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/delta-air-lines\/\">Delta Air Lines<\/a> with 7 departures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During August, EVA Air plans 3 daily flights to Los Angeles using the 777-300ER, 3 daily services to San Francisco using a mix of 777-300ER and 787-9 aircraft, and ten weekly departures to Seattle operated by the 787-9 and 787-10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daily flights will also be available to Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York JFK, Toronto, and Vancouver.
