FORT WORTH-<\/strong> American Airlines (AA)<\/a> resumes scheduled flights to the Eastern Caribbean on Sunday, January 4, 2026, after the FAA-mandated airspace reopening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier adds nearly 5,000 extra seats to and from the region on top of resuming operations, including additional flights and larger aircraft to key destinations like San Juan (SJU) and Antigua (ANU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline deploys its Boeing 777-300<\/a>, the largest in its fleet, starting January 5 to add as much lift as possible and support as many customers as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines pairs these efforts with travel alerts for flexibility and fare caps to aid affected passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines Eastern Caribbean Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines activates all hands on deck to care for customers and help as many reach the Eastern Caribbean as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teams add flights from US hubs like Miami (MIA), Charlotte (CLT), and Chicago O’Hare (ORD), while deploying wide-body jets where feasible to cut delays from the closure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This approach targets peak winter demand, with the Boeing 777-300 offering over 300 seats per flight and premium features like lie-flat beds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines commits to ongoing adjustments, as its team does everything possible to assist customers impacted by the FAA restrictions. That work will continue without pause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
