LONDON-<\/strong> A Jet2 (LS)<\/a> flight from London Stansted (STN) to Tenerife South (TFS) requested priority landing after a serious medical emergency involving a passenger onboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spanish air traffic controllers coordinated an expedited arrival so medical teams could meet the Airbus A321<\/a> on landing. The crew reported the medical concern during the approach and sought immediate assistance on arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jet2 Flight Medical Emergency<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Air traffic control shortened the aircraft\u2019s route so the flight could land sooner from the east side of the island, MirrorUK<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airport medical services were placed on standby and prepared to assist the passenger as soon as the aircraft arrived at Tenerife South (TFS). The airline has not disclosed details about the passenger\u2019s age or condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities have not released further information about the individual involved. Reports indicate that the passenger required urgent care, prompting the priority request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline and airport teams coordinated the response to ensure the aircraft could land as quickly and safely as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jet2 flight LS676 from Tenerife (TFS) to Nottingham (EMA) diverted to Santiago-Rosal\u00eda de Castro Airport (SCQ) after a serious medical emergency involving a male passenger in his seventies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite preparations by emergency responders at Santiago de Compostela, medical staff confirmed the passenger had died shortly after the aircraft landed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, 14 February 2025, during what began as a routine Jet2 service from the Canary Islands. The crew reported the emergency to air traffic control and requested priority landing. Airport medical teams and an ambulance were ready on arrival, but efforts to assist the passenger were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local reports indicate the flight left Tenerife at 7:05 PM before the inflight emergency developed. Authorities have not yet released the nationality of the deceased passenger. Jet2 and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office have not issued formal statements at the time of reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabin crew followed standard emergency procedures and coordinated with airport authorities for rapid medical access upon landing. Passengers remained onboard while medical personnel attended to the situation. After confirmation of the fatality, the aircraft and passengers were managed in accordance with local protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
